Speaking of QB's.....you can put Jeff George and Ryan Leaf way up there on the list of guys who were supposed to set the world on fire. Funny thing is, it doesn't surprise me at all when a highly-touted college signal-caller simply craps out in the big leagues.
Way back in the 1970s when I was driving across the state of Michigan on my way back to NYC for the holidays, I saw a billboard promoting a local sandlot football team, The Ypsilanti Arrows, starring a guy who at one time was near the top of the national rankings as Michigan State's QB - the whole country would see him on NBC on Saturday afternoons, and now he was playing ball for a few bucks for expenses and pitchers of beer after the game.
I bet the numbers for failed "can't miss" college QBs outweighs the stats for every other position in pro sports.
Can somebody pull out the reference material and check that for me?
Start with the names Terry Baker, Sonny Sixkiller, oh, I could go on and on.

Correct -- McNamara and Grady Little must have gone to the same Sears school of baseball managing. Even a little league manager would have had the sense to put in a defensive replacement.
Yeah, Ricky has got to be near the top of the list now. I kinda disagree with the Canseco one. He had a pretty good lengthy career. He could have had a lot more but he still did pretty well.
ricky williams is just One of a BUNCH of Heisman winners that were BUSTS in the NFL

Jefferies played a long and decent career...it was mainly the NYC media that overhyped him. Not a big dissapointment in my opinion, unless you speculated on his 1988 Fleer RC at $12/each.

Especially after his fourth failed drug test, he'll be sitting a year....what a waste.

Aslo I agree with the Jeff George choice mentioned earlier. Amazing talent, but total head case.
