A Few New Germanic Minors for My Collection
I added a few minors to me collection recently and thought I'd share.

This one is an upgrade to my Imperial German minor type set. The date/mint (Berlin) is probably the most common of all the 1/2 marks to find nice and this one is a dramatic example. Blast white with blazing luster and fully struck. Portions of the fields are prooflike. One little hairline on the reverse keeps it out of a 68 holder IMO.

Another upgrade for the Imperial German type set. While by no means rare, ths one is tougher than the 1/2 mark as there was no wartime hoarding. Exceptionally nice cartwheel luster for a copper nickel coin. Fully struck as typical with just a few blemishes on the reverse to limit the grade. I had a junky place holder coin in my set for the type so this one's arrival is particularly welcome.

One for my collection of Holy Roman Empire minors, probably the number two theme of my overall collection. Exceptionally well struck for they type with the hair and coat of arms all there. Super detail on the eagle feathers (unusual) and coat of arms. Well centered on a nice planchet. Subdued luster and clean surfaces. I have three other mint state Leopold 3k’s but all are from the Breslau mint while this one came from Vienna. My favorite of the four, you can really see the Hogmouth!

Another for the HRE minor collection, this one a Leopold 6k. In general the higher the denomination of these the tougher they are to find really well preserved. This one is very well struck on the obverse but somewhat weaker on the reverse -– you can see some missing detail in the crown and top of the coat of arms. Planchet is super as is the centering. What really sets this one apart (and helped this one earn a higher grade than the previous) is the luster. Bright & flashy with some light mirrors on the reverse. In general, it seems that NGC prizes luster when handing out gem+ grades on early silver minors. I have another Leopold 6k in my collection in an MS63 holder but of a later type – this one blows that one away.
As always, comments are welcome!

Some more fantastic coins. As I already had mentioned I'm building a minor type set too. My Halbe Mark coin needs an upgrade, but meanwhile I came across with 2 examples with black and blue finish. I need to image them, but they are hard to photograph.
And where do you find these Austrian hogmouth coins, I almost cannot believe how good they're preserved after all those years!

I had a couple of 67s, 20c and 50c from the common WW2 years. They were exceptionally strong sellers.

<< <i>I've seen you selling many beautifully toned coins, but you seem to prefer the white ones yourself. This half mark looks close to perfection. And that is a nice Hogmouth by the way.
I generally try to collect special coins as they come. Copper-nickel I almost always collect white as I just don't care for the way it tones. Copper I usually like full red or dirty, original looking red-brown. Silver can go any way: vibrant rainbow, crusty original, or blast white. Occasionally I have a general theme like "Japan copper in red" but make exceptions for the right coin. Toning is an odd thing, it's very much more subjective than an asset like fullness of strike so what works for me may not for others (and vice versa).
As for the German stuff, the 1917A /12 markis a hoard coin so white is easily found original and very nice. The 10p has superb luster with no color which is what jazzes me in coins of that composition. Old minors almost always come white, obviously not original but more attractive than dull gray. The few toned coins of these I've seen just didn't do it for me.
Nice coins and pics as always

Nice coins and pics as always
I’ve been working the set slowly but surely in a low stress manner. Added a couple and upgraded a couple last year and would like to do the same this year. Shooting for untoned coins and glossy brown coppers in 65 (my opinion) or better.
Have & happy with them:
KM2: 2 Pfennig (66BN)
KM19: 5 Pfennig (65)
KM12: 10 Pfennig (66)
KM5: 20 Pfennig (65)
KM9.1: 20 Pfennig (65)
KM18: 25 Pfennig (66)
KM17: 1/2 Mark (67)
KM7: 1 Mark (67)
KM14: 1 Mark (67)
Have but would like to upgrade:
KM1: 1 Pfennig (64BN)
KM11: 5 Pfennig (64)
Missing (some easy but the right one hasn’t come along, some tougher):
KM10: 1 Pfennig
KM24: 1 Pfennig (easy)
KM16: 2 Pfennig (easy)
KM3: 5 Pfennig
KM4: 10 Pfennig
KM20: 10 Pfennig
KM26: 10 Pfennig
KM13: 20 Pfennig
KM6: 50 Pfennig (tough)
KM8: 50 Pfennig (tough)
KM15: 50 Pfennig (tough)
Have any of the above you're looking to move?
I recently rediscovered my password for my NGC signature set of these so some updates will need to be made!
Only have the minors in proof
When are you selling the coins below the ones that you upgraded
