Well for one thing he has shown me the beauty of Accented Hair through his numerous posts and explanations of it. It takes a lot of gel and a little bit of time but I can get the AH wishbone in my hair pretty easily now. No one at any coin shows has noticed it yet though and that is a little dissapointing.

Russ has helped me by cutting his hair. I suffer from PTSD, and since Russ cut his hair, I have been able to cut my meds in half.

Also when I first entered this forum he was nice enough to handle my MEAT and keep it FRESH, I think that was it, I never took him up on his offer.

First, he got me interested in AH Kennedys and pointed me to this site: AH. I had a great time the other night investigating a proof set I'd just recieved.

Secondly, he provided two photos I needed for gifts (I know it was nerdy, but it's what they collect)

... and not just when it comes to coins. BTW, they have to pay for their collection with their own $$$. Hurts Emily a little more because she's trying to go the BU route. Kyle is just filling holes.

Russ...........the dude who has like nearly all the birth mark headed, Cam, DCam and rare varieties of that Modern Crapola coin with the dead president on the front...yeah, thats him......he's always on the look out for bad pics of proof sets just listed with a buy it now but with the slightest hope it will dip clean and make more money to feed his dirty little habit. Yep, thats him.......Russ,he's also the guy who makes tons of cabbage selling those Kennedy halves as well as his little black bags/slab caddies, but yet wont spend more than $100 for his digital camera..........thats him. Russ......I dont know him, but tell you what........... if he doesnt know the answer of a question regarding a half dollar minted after 1963......then I dont know who else to go to. Lucy, oh wait, she likes the bald dude.

This post is in honor of Russ:

Russ taught me about my favorite series: THe kennedy half dollar. Within 4 days from reading his site I aquired two AH kennedy half dollars at my first coin show and boy was I ecstatic. Then he burst my bubble my telling me that only cameos were worth more.
After that I learned how to grade better with moderns. He even taught me how to maximize my search for cameos. He once posted that when you win a cameo set on ebay to ask the seller where they got it and if they have more. I tried this tactic and scored about 10cameo/dcam kennedys and 10cam/dcam roosevelts from 1964. It's thanx to him and other forum members that I am back into coins.

So Russ, this post is for you.

I think we all owe Russ a great debt of gratitude. His selfless devotion to the Kennedy Halves has provided dealers with operating capital, eliminated himself as a serious competitor for the ever dwindling supply of real coins thus helping to keep prices down to a level that at least some of us can afford, and in his greatest benefit to the market, the removal of all those accented hair halves which would otherwise have acted as a drag on the entire hobby. One which would surely have dragged the entire hobby into the abyss. And I don't mean the pit over on the Darkside!
