Montana in the mail today! My 4th received from set.
Herschel Walker RTS on the 14th. Hawn Court address
I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach) Doug
I have never been a fan of autographs. I just don't get it. However, the idea of having this set signed is brilliant, and the cards look fantastic. A complete set will be a showpiece for any collection. Way to go, guys.
Collector of 1976 Topps baseball for some stupid reason. Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason. My Pirates Collection
Well the one I got back is not exactly like the one downtown posted so I don't know if I agree with that. In my letter I said that if he was using an autopen or ghost signer that he should send my cards back unsigned. Well he sent one back signed and the other unsigned so if he was using an autopen why not just do both??
Received Dick Anderson today, personalized to me. Sent 2-4-06 to his home address.
I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach) Doug
Mr Karras sent back the letter I sent him and added a thank you from his daughter. I sent him two of the Topps All-American cards and she didn't have it in her collection so she kept one for herself. She must collect dad's cards.
I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach) Doug
I have a few of these to send out myself. I noticed that on sportscollectors.net there are lots of reports of success with Bruce Matthews...but no address on the site. Anybody track down a mailing address for Bruce? I believe it should be somewhere in TX. Thanks in advance.
Someone may have already posted one of his, but Danny Wuerffel was in today.

I had my first TTM success today.....Got Dick Butkus back. Best part....I sent 2 AAs to be signed, and he sent me those back and 3 additionally signed cards.
At first I was skeptical they were all autopens, but after examination they check out.
After not getting anything in mail for a wile...these came today along with Jerry Sloan and Virgil Trucks.
DUNER...the Foley was picked up in a trade.

Herschel has an awesome auto! It's nice being these ex-athletes, even the ones that were wipeouts in the pros. I wonder how much they can make just signing autos for card companies.
Has anyone attempted to get the chromes auto'd? I can't really tell if the auto will either immediately smear, or if the auto won't be visible on the background.
My First 40 requests are somewhere in transit...but I'd sure like get a couple of chromes signed for my next round.

I should start sending a fresh sharpie. brianwintersfan card is clearer.

All the sigs coming from his address are from the same hand....i just dont think it's joes. If you look at the cards he signs for upperdeck the J and the Ontana are different...the one's coming from his home have that stop-start effect, his certified autos are pretty much elliptical semi circles.
Maybe his auto's changed....either way, for the $1.26 postage it matters very little to me. If it was a 1980 topps I sent him, I'd have some serious anxiety.
<< <i>If it was a 1980 topps I sent him, I'd have some serious anxiety. >>
So would I since his rookie is 1981 I may spend the $20 and send it to PSA/DNA and see for sure. Harvey compared it to a known autopen he had and one he got in person and he thought it might be legit. He agrees PSA/DNA is the way to go to make sure.
ANYTHING received from Montana in the mail is autopenned. 100% guaranteed.
There are three variations of the autopen that I have seen. As I have stated in other threads, Joe is GREAT in person so long as he is not with his wife or family but I doubt he even sees his mail.
Slightly off topic, but I recently sent out 15 TTM requests for hall of famers and mailed them to the hall of fame. Three were returned (Marv Levy, Jackie Slater and Anthony Munoz) and I received the Joe Gibbs back un-autographed in the SASE w/ a note stating that he is too busy now that he has returned to coaching.
Very dissapointing so far. I re-mailed the Levy, Slater and Munoz to their respective teams and asked they be forwarded. I thought the Hall of Fame forwards mail for all hall of famers. Some players must have requested that the hall not forward any mail to them.
Any thoughts?

Collecting vintage auto'd fb cards and Dan Marino cards!!
The only one I have sent so far that was c/o HOF was John Henry Johnson. I did get them back but I also heard that others had success with him that way. You may be better off sending them directly to their homes if it doesn't work this time.
Good luck on the auto - take a good look at the sig - if it has a hard start and stop - perhaps with a little "welled up" ink - I would guess autopen. If the sig is light on the end, as if pulled away with less pressure - probably real?
I was also curious about the pen - and according to this company - "it can use ANY kind of pen" - I was thinking that kind of pen wouldn't be used in a machine but I guess anything goes.
With www.sportscollectors.net, do they have a lot of Baseball players address? I think what you guys are doing is great. I would love to get White Sox player autographs for a bar display in my house.
BW...did you send griffin to the alumni assoc, athletics, or the other number?I sent mine out c/o the alumni assoc. a month ago and still haven't received anything back.

Mine clocked in at 41 days
ATFF, Heritage, Cracker Jack, Tradition and just about any "throwback" set make great TTM requests.
I attempted the 2004 Topps ATFF Baseball set and ended up with 60 successes- Not bad considering the checklist.
