Stars behind bars!

I hope everyone is keeping up with the shenanigans by Marcus Vick. Today he was arrested for pulling a gun on some teenagers in a parking lot! Since I pulled a Maurice Clarett rookie card this weekend (2005 Topps Heritage), it gave me an idea for a new set - "Stars behind Bars". Just collect all the rookie cards of pro players with jail time/convictions. You know, it really doesn't bother me at all to see some of these inflated-ego idiots self-destruct. But I bet some NFL team will still draft him and give a few million$ for a signing bonus. Kinda makes you wonder whose the bigger idiot...

How about Hollywood Henderson?
Ron LeFlore and Gates Brown.
Cecil Collins: he had a tendancy to climb into women's bed's at night and "lay" w/ them.
Dexter Manley: what can you say? the man loved the pipe.
Brian Griese: drunky
Randy Moss: bumped a cop on the beat while partaking mother earth
Jim Brown: smacking up his wife (or at least that's what the police say?)
Jamal Lewis: trying to broker a crack transaction w/ an undercover cop (loooooser...)
Baseball:
Darryl Strawberry: see Dexter Manley
Basketball:
Quintel Woods: running illegal dog fighting in his basement
Chris Webber: he got high and refused to get out of his car for a cop on the beat (not even in a car!)
Jason Kidd: he hit his 3 year old son b/c he took 1 of his fries off his plate
Shooting fish in a barrel I tell you

I thought Ron LeFlore did his time before making it to the big leagues. As I recall, his story was one of turning his life around for the good.
Najeh "The Closet Pooper" Davenport
Lawrence "Crack Pipe" Taylor
Michael "That's my brothers" Irvin
Lawrence Phillips as someone else mentioned...he's just a nut job.
...and Marcus Vick deserves the "Mr. Insignificant" award, then he should be dropped. But based on his talent he'll get a shot just like Clarett did and my guess is, he'll screw that up too.

If he was found not guilty I don't think that would qualify him as a criminal. He did spend time behind bars, so that fits in this thread, but "Is there a worse major sports celeb criminal out there?" I am not sure if OJ is actually a criminal in the eyes of the law.

Although OJ was found not guilty in the criminal court of law - he was found guilty in a civil case brought on by Nicole's parents - where the standard is only 'preponderance of the evidence' rather than 'beyond a reasonable doubt'. And it was that case that basically bankrupted OJ's lifestyle, etc. [although many of his assets/residuals are exempted from the monies he owes Nicole's parents. Thus, guilt is a relative term. Criminally guilty, no - but guilty under civil terms, yes.

Now Mucky, that's not very nice.
Actually 'Pep is kind of an afterthought, I was never the biggest fan of his anyway, but your right, he's gotten himself in some trouble. Althugh Smoot is actually the big time offender in the "I got laid at Al & Alma's" scandal. Take a look at the actual sheriff's report sometime if you get a chance. It would make a hooker blush.
And our old pal Onterrio...yeah, he's none too bright either.
We have lots of real braintrust athletes here in MN. Tommy Kramer and his 418 DWI's. Numerious domestic assaults...we draft the "high character" players..in all sports.
As for picking on Vikings fans, yeah, that's allowed. I'll even help this year. Unless you're a Packers fan. I have to draw the line somewhere.

Actually, it was a ball he was throwing during his between-innings warmup. The bird and the ball met each other in mid-flight. Here's an excerpt from espn.com:
"On Aug. 4, 1983, Yankees outfielder Dave Winfield killed a seagull in Toronto with a warmup throw. The Ontario police charged him with animal cruelty, although the charge was later dropped."
Also, Randy Johnson did the same thing once with a pitch:
"During the seventh inning of the Diamondbacks' split-squad 10-6 victory against the Giants on Saturday, the NL Cy Young winner hit and killed a dove flying in front of home plate.
Johnson's pitch to the Giants' Calvin Murray was about three-fourths of the way to home plate when it struck the bird.
The bird flew over catcher Rod Barajas' head and landed a few feet from the plate amid a sea of feathers.
"I'm sitting there waiting for it, and I'm expecting to catch the thing, and all you see is an explosion," Barajas said. "It's crazy. There's still feathers down there."
Giants second baseman Jeff Kent picked up the dead bird with his bare hands and jokingly pointed toward Johnson before taking it to the dugout.
Johnson was not amused by the incident.
"I didn't think it was all that funny," he said."
