If Vince Young enters the 2006 NFL Draft, who should the Houston Texans pick?

A potentially gut-wrenching decison for Houston. Luckily Darkko Milivisec is NOT available (oops sorry, wrong sport).

Actully, Vince Young IS both! I think he is from Houston as well.
The Texans have a good RB and a decent QB - you couldn't tell b/c the O-line was so terrible.
The big-boys up front set the tone for the entire offense.

Teams with decent QBs rarely do anything special. If they believe either the USC or Texas QB can be a GREAT NFL QB they should take that person. Or if they believe Bush will be great they should take him.

I would have to disagree with you. Look at the Chiefs. Arguably one of the best O-lines the last five years and Trent Green is second to only Peyton in yardage in that span. Not to take anything away from Green, but he was nothing too special before he got to KC. Building the O-line helps the running game at the same time. Not to descredit anything the Chiefs have done, but you don't have a top 5 offense for five straight years without the big guys up front. Just my opinion.
lineman. When is the last time a scrambling QB won a super bowl? Pass on Young

The point was made is he's not going to run like that in the NFL, he's not all that fast, and his delivery is horrendous.
He's not even as fast as David Carr...Carr just needs an O line to protect him. Young will need to change to WR or RB to be an effective player in the NFL.
Reggie Bush is a once in a generation type player....to pass on him, and the texans will be remembered like the trailblazers passing on michael jordan.

This is why I give a slight edge to Bush. He may or may not live up to his college glory, but the Texans probably should go for it. Vince may stay out if he thinks the Saints might draft him. You think Leinart would go to the Saints or will he pull an Eli Manning?

BAWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

No kidding! It is almost scary how some are right on and some are far off.

It's like we want him to put up these great rushing numbers, even though that is not the position he plays. He's not a starter running back. He plays a halfback/receiver role and other then injuries, has had a pretty good career. A player like Bush, even when he doesn't get the ball, makes the defense consider him a target. Keeps the defense back a little, screws up zone defense defenders, and the like. If you are a defensive coordinator, you are not ignoring him. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he is going to be HOF'er or even close, but other then injuries, he's a solid player on the field, and better then most of the 2006 1st rd draft picks.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

Agreed, I was one of the biggest trash talkers about Bush at the time, my argument was you needed to get a Back who could take the ball 20-25 times a game to make your #2 pick worth it but his versatility has been pretty damn good.
