WHAT SHOULD I DO?-WRONG COIN IN PCGS HOLDER?

Hi everyone..I am embarrassed to bring this up but I need some help- I was going thru my PCGS registry set coins the other day and I was looking at the mint mark on my 1940 S Jefferson nickel-much to my surprise I noticed that although the holder said the coin was an S mint the coin in the holder was in fact a D mint. I know this has happened before so if anyone has any experience please comment- thanks Don

Call customer service when they open. They will have you send back the coin and fix the label.

I've never seen this on a PCGS slab, but I've had a few NGC holders that had the wrong description. One was 1913 Type 2 Buffalo nickel that was labeled as a type 1. The grade was right, but the label was wrong. Another was Walking Liberal half that was actually labeled as a Philadelphia coin, but was really a Denver mint piece.

NGC reholdered both coins for me free of charge at one of the FUN shows.

I know it was a typo but that struck me as funny!

Let Big Dave know about it. He'll be sure to rant on that one.

Otherwise, it sounds neat. Error holders anyone?image
