Well I finally did it......

I finally bit the bullet and sent 9 coins out to NGC for grading. In my opinion, four have a pretty good shot at coming back in a BB, but Ben wanted to see if they would grade.

Of course, in my experience, it seems NGC will put anything in an MS-62 holder. I've also found that my Good VF = NGC AU-58 (See Gemini II lot 578).

Oh well, just have to keep thinking about "dee mahney." image (Plus I've got two slabbed ancients sitting on my desk that I get to bust out for therapy. image )

These were ancients, I presume? Is NGC doin' ancients, now?

Yes they are, but without using numerical grades. I suppose Josh liberated ICG coins though.

I've also found that my Good VF = NGC AU-58

I've found out that too a few years ago, only it costed me around $2K , that's how much I overpaid for a terribly overgraded PCGS coin from Crete. image

I wonder why the don't numerically grade these coins? Could it be that almost all ancient coins have been cleaned and they are taking this into consideration so that the coins won't be BBed?

No, these were actually world coins. We absolutely refuse to slab ancients.

A couple Russian coins. A japanese piece. And a Norwegian coin. And some other stuff that I don't recall at the moment.
