In honor of my 100th post on this fine board.... drum roll....

Reverse

Obverse

Mintage 100, some interesting toning lines, original luster, a minor planchet flaw... but I love it. Sort of the king of pre-war Polish coins, the 5 zlotych "Constitution" from 1925. 37 mm diameter, this one struck in a bronze alloy (tombac). Very hard to find with original surfaces.

Ever have one of those "FINALLY" moments? This is one of mine. image

Good catch. I like the coin's appearance. Mintages of 100 do not gave you many opportunities to buy.

Thanks guys. It has some interesting toning lines. Don't know if it was wrapped in tissue paper at some time or maybe wiped with something. I'm told it looks even better in person.

For some reason this type is just very, very hard to find in nice condition. There about a dozen varieties of the Constitution 5 zlotych, all dated 1925, and it seems like 90% of the ones that show up have problems (cleaning, weak strike, you name it).

This is one of the scarcer varieties (two of the varieties are mintage 1000, and the other varieties are mintage 100 or less). Technically, the Constutition coins are all patterns, but the two "mintage 1000" varieties are placed in the circulating coins section of Polish catalogs.
