He's saying he will not play the outfield. Interesting.. when did players get to choose where they play? How did I miss this phenomenon?

You must be out of the loop. These days players not only get to pick what position they play, the get to pick their spot in the lineup, when they will be traded and to whom they will be traded. In certain cases, players even get to pick their managers (see Schilling/Francona).

The interaction between Frank Robinson (who takes no BS) and Soriano may be interesting. I'm sure Soriano will play where it best benefits the team.
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!

Why does he want to play second? He *stinks* at second, leading the league in errors...he's better off in a position that's not so demanding on a play to play basis.

<< <i>Why does he want to play second? >>

Because with his offensive skills he's an all-star at second. In the outfield he's not.
  • with his defense and on base percentage he isn't an all-star in any league!

Four start years as an all star would disagree.

So did Alex Rodriguez pick to play 3rd in NY? or did Derek Jeter pick for him to play 3rd? image

Let's not forget it was gimpy Jeter who was the one who didn't move to third...it was Arod. Jeter wanted his gold glove and hell, by taking the competition out, he was able to get his own trophy.

Wrong as usual ax, Jeter was never asked to move, it was never hinted by the Yankees that Derek should "offer", and A-rod made that decision all by himself as the Yankees told A-rod that this was the only way the trade could be made. It is your fabrication by saying Jeter wanted his gold glove yada yada yada

Derek Jeter is shortstop who played through 4 World Championships. Your WAY OFF BASE thoughts that Jeter should have offered up his position justs highlites how cluless you really are. Your anti NY rhetoric supercedes any rational thinking in your pea brain head image

True or false? Arod is a better shortstop than Jeter?

True or false? Jeter should have be the 'captain' and offered to move to third (that is, if he has enough arm).

True or false? Jeter never won a gold glove before Arod stopped playing shortstop?

These are 'delusions' as you are so fond of saying, these are straight up factual questions. You man enough to answer them honestly?

What does that question have to do with your delusional STORY about Jeter being selfish and not moving to third base? Of course there is a arguement about who is a better SS you jacka$$. The Yankees are supposed to expect Jeter to give up his position after anchoring it for 4 World Series Championships? Just because A-rod MIGHT be a better shortstop? I'm still waiting for that BETTER shortstop to do SOMETHING, ANYTHING in the post season when it really counts like Jeter has his whole career.

You arguement is baseless, moronic, biased, and as hollow as any Easter Bunny you wolfed down as a idiot in training years ago.

It's no question that Arod is a better shortstop...there's no hyperbole or theory needed. Arod's won multiple MVPs, Jeter's been lucky to get paid $18 million a year. There is no question who the better shortstop is...but if you'd pull your head out of your self induced yankee hole in the ground, you'd see that too.

There is not even a debate: Arod CRUSHES Jeter head to head as a shortstop...that was simply my POINT that Arod >>>> Jeter in the SS category.

You say Jeter anchored 4 WS teams? He's also 'anchored' (as in drug to the bottom of the ocean) 5 NON WS winning teams, in case you hadn't forgotten your recent history and were holding on so dearly to the glory years long gone for spankee fans.

Do you have any sense of how dumb you look? Take the above comment.

You name me ONE (1) shortstop who has anchored the SS position on FOUR (4) World Championship teams in the last ..... ohhhhh 100 YEARS.

What makes you look even more ridiculous (hard to do) is the 5 NON winning teams comment image I won't even touch that one. No use debating with a petrified stump.

You talk like 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000 was just sooooo long ago. No Yankee fan is allowed to remember these four years fondly because it is ANCIENT history. You must be 18 or 19 years old Ax, because to a kid 5 years ago is a loooong time ago image

The team is better with Arod at third and Jeter at short. They figured it out without emotion. Only Axtell seems to have an issue with it because he wasn't consulted. image

Look, you were the one who said that he achored the world series team as if he was the sole reason they won it...if that's the case, then you have to take the bad with the good and say he's anchored 5 consecutive teams that haven't won the world series.

You can't pick and choose what stats you want to use - it doesn't work that way. But then what am I saying - you're a blinded yankees fan who can't see the TRUTH - only what the slanted NY media spews out.

again, you look more and more the idiot with every bit of nonsense that spews from your cave. For your homework assignment, I want you to read up on EVERY Hall of Fame SS in this games history that ANCHORED its team through NOTHING BUT years with ZERO World Series Titles. Your little idea of 5 consecutive years with no title being a hit on Jeter shows your lack of brain cells.

This is not the argument, the argument is that your hollow head thinks Jeter should have offered up his position to A-Rod because you think A-rod is the better SS. But you fail to recognize that it was NEVER AN ISSUE! A-Rod more than agreed to the switch BEFORE the trade was made. YOU are making a bigger issue out of this than the NY media did when it happened.

    IDIOT
