    ms69 Lincolns from 90-date. They are dates where the coins are extremely well made and very common even in ms68. Once enough ms68's were found to make them not that profitable to sell, people stopped sending those dates in for grading hence the ms69 pops are low. I'm pretty sure one could find these coins by just getting a large enough quantity of mint sets or quality rolls.

    The 01-S Sacagawea is irrationally priced, IMO. Very common coin from a very common proof set, yet it seems to have been identified as being scarce, thus driving prices for the raw 01-S to $60+ bid and $100 holdered in 9 dcam/ucam.

    State Quarters...billions minted, billions pulled from circulation. RARE? No, People paying big buck instead of slabbing them on their own, you betcha.

    Coins aren't investments. They're for fun. But, if your question translates to "Which coins are you likely to lose your ass on when you sell them", then stay away from newborns.

    The 2001 Proof Sac Dollar seems to be up there.....

    Nobody can explain why it is a $100 coin.....

    There are several moderns which are probably overpriced or enjoying only fleeting demand.

    I'm not interested in pointing them out but I don't necessarily disagree with some of those already mentioned.
