New Ideas For PCGS to Consider?

Just a couple of random thoughts for PCGS to consider......please add on. I'd love to see what other ideas people have.
- I would love to see PCGS attribute PL and DMPL on all other coins (besides Morgans). NGC does it (at least at the PL level)...it would be wonderful to see a coin that has the PL feature be recognized as such on the holder.
- I would love to see PCGS offer a "micro holder" that is just larger than the coin. The purpose of this would be to create a series of ablums that entire collections could be presented in single album. The only marking on the holder is the PCGS logo and the certification number. If you want the grade, look it up. Imagine, having your eyes judge a coin without the holder telling you. I suspect that many coins might over or under graded from an eye appeal standpoint. For me, I'd just like to see collections well presented instead of just a pile of slabs.
- I'd like to see a an area of the registry where you can create your own collection without the restrictions of the current registry's. For example, if one had a pile of bust half coins (with varieties), I think it be great to people to share the depth of their collections regardless of the what PCGS officially recognizes.
- This has come up before, but more room for better pictures in the Registry. At least so moderate size TruView pics can be added.
- A very, very short discription (this could be a form letter) provided on rejected crossovers on why the coin didn't make the grade. I'd love to get a learning curve on coins that didn't cross. Is it toning, marks, eye appeal, luster, or what?

• Get rid of the collectors club and allow anyone to submit.
• Move the serial number and barcode to the reverse of the slab, since they don't really need the room for any logos other than their own these days.
• Allow public access to the pop reports. There are buyers who need that information, that never submit anything.
• Change the boxes to be semi-transparent.

1. Log coins into the system the same day they arrive.
2. Grade coins at each level of service on a first-in, first-out basis.
3. Configure the website to show at which step of the grading process the orders are.
4. Give specific reasons why coins didn't cross.
excellent ideas keoj ... I especially like the idea of "micro holders" ... maybe something like the snap-tite 2x2's, with the grade/seriel number/other information of the edge of the holder ... it would be nice to see the coin as a coin instead of it's slab/grade/barcode/endorsement

And
I would like to see a label that's readable from the top. Just the year / denomination / grade, such as: 1854-O Half Dime MS64
That would be nice.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

I'd love to see all of this happen - especially the stuff that brings them further into the free cyberspace like NGC - pop reports especially.
I'd love to see them embrace the 100 point grading system as well.
(ducks and heads for cover) *just kidding*

I'm throwing virtual tomatoes at you right now.
In some cases, it would be logical if a coin that is currently sitting in a nice new holder showed that it was graded say back in 1988 at ms63, and today it shows it to be a 65 or a au58. This could in turn help with the pop reports.
Show that the coin was once in an NGC or Anacs holder- a simple designation like a letter N or A depicting the previous service.
In another thread a person asked about the 'reholdering' of a coin into PCGS plastic- but did not want to spend a ton of money to do this.
I would think that if the coin lent merit to the grade and you are sending it in because of the PCGS value- then having it marked in such as above would make it. the serial number could be as such: 7292.63/6352626A or N or I. this is not that hard to accomplish- but then again I do forget that the folks on the left coast have air in thier heads and can easily screw this up.
Personally feel that 30 bucks for a 6 second review is outrageous, especially when you look at how the standards have been so crazy in the last 5 years.

Count me in on this one. Jeez - Platinum used to be for 2 years + 8 free grades and now its 1 year + 8 free grades!
I could have really used the $100 membership this year!

1. Stop giving me body bags and grades I disagree with.
2. Those turn around times still suck monkey nards.
3. Stop giving the BN designation on wildly color toned copper that has zero brown or red in it.
4. Learn how to accurately grade circulated bust coinage.
5. Lower rates to at least be reasonable.
6. Find me a 1961 Cadillac in mint condition with less than 5,000 miles on it.
7. Make my hair grow back.
8. Offer True-View services free with at all grading levels.
9. Put LM, JR, B and O varieties on Capped Bust coin slabs...but only if they can accurately attributed.
10. Boot Iwog off the OF.
