In case anyone was wondering . . .

Got this reply from NGC this morning:

<< <i>Dear Mr. Rupp,

Thank you for your inquiry. We unfortunately do not make a multi coin
slab for the British Maundy set. If you have any further questions
please feel free to contact me.

Probably not enough demand. I'll ask.

'cause darkside junque is not profitable for them ... most likely ...

Probably get the same results if you asked about the modern four piece gold soverign set or the four piece proof silver Britannia set.

I don't necessarily agree with this. NGC has gotten the lion's share of the graded World coin market. They have made an effort, IMO, to give World coins more of a priority. I think it may just be a supply/demand thing.

Can't they just use a regular 4 coin multiholder? The little coins might look buried but they seem to make all the pieces.

    I don't get it image

Another forum member (I think it was Mad Marty) had a 4 coin Egyptian set made and I just sent in a 6 coin Philippines set, after confirming with them that they would holder it!

Does it have to do with the size of the Maundy coins, as JamminJ suggests???

Hell, the Maundy set would fit nicely in a regular NGC single coin slab. All they have to do is put in four little holes instead of one. I agree with Dimitri's question: Why not? If they'll put liteside stuff in multi-coin holders, why not Darkside?

I'd like get a few entire British proof sets slabbed in a single holder. I expect they won't do those either image

Here's another of the Egypt sets in a multi holder.
    image

It has the right number of coins, and with the clear inserts just like the one arounf you Maundy 1d they should be able to fit the whole set.

    To NGC:

When the history of Maundy sets is considered combined with the years minted and sets available and collector interest... well, NGC, the time has come... offer a multi-coin holder for these sets.
