Coin night in Manila

Had a nice coin night last night with JustHavingFun & TainoHenka. Lots of interesting topics discussed and new ideas shared. Thought I'd share a proof that joined the FilamCoins family courtesy of philippinecoins.com. Until next year .....

That's a nice coin that I'll bet looks even better in hand! I'd have enjoyed sharing a coin night with the three of you! If you happen to pass through Seoul perhaps we can share a coin night in Korea.

Wow -It's great when you can get together with fellow forum members! Every time you and justhavingfun post, I run and check my small Philippine collection, you both have added interesting info on this unique countrie's coin history - with the US involvement.

I collected Korean coins and banknotes quite avidly until about 2001, then I decided to change my collecting focus and sold my Korean collections. I had a nearly complete collection of North and South Korean banknotes (All but 6 or 7 rare notes were Crisp Uncirculated.) that I sold several years ago. I also had quite a few pre-1945 Korean Banknotes that I sold at the same time. In addition, I had a large collection of South Korean coins but now only have a few left.

hello Mr. USA ROK. I have something of an extended family in Korea and sometimes visit with them. If I do, I'll let you know and maybe we can get together for an evening of schmoozing about coins. And they even have some young daughters who are pretty cute, so if you want to talk about things other than coins, I won't blame you.

Meanwhile, if you ever visit in Bangkok, let me know, and we'll meet up, maybe at that great BAngkok restaurant ... Baan Jilaporn (Jilaporn being my 5-star cook).

Yes, Old Shep: These meetings with Filam and Tai-no-henka are the first time I've ever met forum members for schmoozing. And it's wonderful to be able discuss these coins with someone who doesn't think you're a raving lunatic: "You spent a $170 for a half-peso?"

Oh Clankeye, you call me a gentleman, but my self image is still that of an upstart street urchin.
