New to the Darkside? Three pretty coins to he/she who wants them

Found two pretty little Philippine ten centavos in my desk, along with a Swiss half franc.
I would like to send them to someone new to the joys of darkside collecting. I will mail them to the first newbie to express interest.

Not a newbie, so I don't qualify, but nice of you to offer them!

    (pretty coins too)
  • Yes, they are pretty little things. They have some nice subtle toning going on.

The centavos have poor strikes. But, from what I have seen for that year 1945--that seems to be the norm.

You take fine pictures, coinpictures. BTW.

Shouldn't the 1943 Philippine coins be called bi-side instead of darkside? image

    You type quickly.

I'm sorry son, looking back through our files, the firm of Clank, Eye, and Whizzy seem to have sent you a coin in the past. You are therefore disqualified from this particular offering.

  • And as for you, mushroom fellow. These 1945 centavos were actually minted over yonder on foreign soil. They are dark as dark can be.

Those are some lovely coins. The 1/2 Frank is awesome. I have a couple Philippine coins but nothing that nice.

    Excellent.

Clankeye: Note the mintmark on the reverse of the 1945 Ten Centavos, it's Denver not Manila.

Whoa! I thought that "D" stood for "Darkside."

As usual, I am confused. I guess I could actually look at the coin, but that would be cheating.

Well, Mr. Mushroom fellow, you are right. Bi-side it is.

I guess I should have mentioned that the Manila mint was also a United States mint.
