    please do not dip it or bathe it or wash it or molest it please.

    send it in to pcgs as is, so it can be preserved for the years.

    sweet coin. lots of luster. MS material.

    i thought so myself. alot of luster and at 220$ i had to take the risk. the dealer in person said it should be a ms64 or 65 if the speck by the S was not there. i wonder how much it will hurt the coin

    it will not hurt the grading at all.

    let it ride.

    Yes it might. Big spots like that hurt "eye appeal"

    how is the safest way to get it off. before i send it to pcgs? or is it just better to leave it like that?

    I would leave it raw. IMO, not worth the slabbing fee, postage both ways, aggravation if you do not get the grade you expect, etc.

    i won the auction and by the pcgs price site ( and yes i know its just a guide not a set in stone thing). If this coin comes back in EF 40 ( about 220$) ill break even (im not in it for the money but as much as a) preserving the coin in current state and b.) seeing how good my eye is. i saw this as a 61 or 62 so i for my records would like to know how im progressing. ( besides grade the coins you guys do which i love)

  • It seems like you have some pretty good resons for sending it in. I say to go for it. It will be a great learning experience and if you do send it in, you have to tell us the results!image

    I think you should send it in as is and let the chips fall where they may.

    this is the other one i plan to send it with it. THIS WAS MY FIRST TRY BEFORE TAKIN TIME TO LEARN WHAT TO LOOK FOR. there is a world of difference. im sending this in also to see what grade it was ( if not body bagged) but i had this as a XF 40 in my book i know you all graded it in july 04 so when this goes out with the 1904 ill let you know what both come in as.
