5) Develop relationships with fellow collectors and go to shows for some camaraderie ....for it is here that I have obtained a ton of wealth (not money...friendships ). Nothing is better than a little show-and-tell with your buddies, and you never know your buddy might find you a moose or two or even sell you one of his dups. A few coins in my set came from my friends and what monsters they are too! Also at these shows you can cement some of those relationships with those dealers I was talking about above. Oh, did I mention you can also get first shot at their inventory? It didn’t take me long to figure out once a monster coin left the show in a dealers inventory all the collectors who didn’t go to the show had a shot at it. Heck I go to shows to cut them off at the pass.
7) Most importantly spend time in the market... the hype you hear about people making a ton of money on their collection is true....but they did it with all of the above and have spent time in the market and allowed their holdings time to appreciate in value...very few do it in a few years...very few. Now if your serious and want to do something meaningful it’s not going to be that easy. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it. You are looking for a challenge, aren’t you? It will take time. Personally I don’t think I will be privy to enough coins to do what I want to do for about 20 years, so I am prepared to "hunt" that long in order to do what I’m trying to do. Now to some that might be a long time but to me it’s a walk in the park enjoying the hobby every step of the way. And you know what...30 years might even be a better walk!

<< <i>Nice article- too bad for him he didn't play for the steelers......
Yep, Gregg would have fit right in with Lambert, Ham, Greenwood, White and the rest of the Steel Curtain. Although I was a "Purple-people-eaters" man myself!
