Backing into the playoffs 3 years in a row
To become a Wild Card Nation Citizen you must be a Red Sox fan and cherish the fact that the Red Sox haven't won a division title since 1995.

and the yankees haven't won a World Series since 2000 ....
If so, this thread is pointless

I see you are new 99.99% of Gemmy's threads are pointless...
Ed McMahon (question): Great Gemmini - I you were to comibine social commentary on their name, as well as the and plight of the Cleveland team....where will they be spending the off-season?

You are correct. Most of Spammy's threads are - but we do at least get to have fun mocking them.
Boston 95 67 .586 --
Yankees 95 67 .586 --
Yep - looks like a clear divisional win there to me. Be proud of your tie, Yankee fans!
Boston, going to an uproven White Sox team's home, and playing as the wild card.
or
NY, going to Anaheim, to play a team that has murdered you in the regular season and the postseason? Anaheim has also won a world series recently.
I think Boston got themsleves a pretty good deal.
Oh, spammy? You're a moron. Couldn't you find one that was from 2005? Jeez you're lame.
Chewed gum has more smarts than you.
If anything, any Yankee fan with any sort of pride in his team should theoretically be as frustrated as Red Sox fans about finishing TIED and not having a chance to actually settle it and win the division, instead having it settled by one of the more arbitrary means possible - nothing is settled, nobody won the division.
But that's all irrelevant, since NO BODY actually cares about it at all. Thanks to the stupid wild card, it doesn't matter one bit. The reason we don't care is we know it's meaningless. Same record, no division winner, everybody plays in October, so why would we care about technical playoff seeding rules? You, on the other hand, yank another stupid and pointless signature picture, while Alex Rodriguez embarasses himself again crying that the Rangers don't want him to win.
If Jason Varitek were Captain of the Yankees, Rodriguez would've learned to keep his mouth shut by now.

I think if anything this shows that Arod is more of a leader than anything Jeter's ever done...no one was saying anything, and I am sure a lot of yankee fans were upset by it, so he felt the need to step up and say it...let's not forget, Torre was crying the same way, and no one's raking him over the coals like this.

Considering the Sox had a four game lead so late. yep, we should be proud

4 1/2 game lead. 5 in the loss column on 9/10. The Yankees made up 5 games in less than 2 weeks. The Red Sox CHOKED down the stretch and lost 2 out of 3 to the Devil Rays.

I'm thinking the Yankees now, the Whites are looking darn good. Although maybe Boston was smart since the WC team has won the last 3 World Series.

WAIT WAIT WAIT
Just a couple of weeks ago when the Yankees got spanked by the D-Rays, you were yapping about the D-Days being THE BEST team since the All-Star break.
So... Which one is it?

A pattern that surely will not keep up .....

Then down the stretch the Yankees went to Tampa Bay and swept the Rays. So please do your homework.
Down the stretch both the Red Sox and Indians lost 2 out of 3 to the Rays.
