Is Piazza Gone?

Just watched that this was his last game as a Met...is he retiring, or not being re-signed to the Mets?

He's 37...does he go to the AL and pick up a DH gig?

The Mets have made it pretty clear that they don't want him back next year. They had a nice video tribute to his career during the seventh inning stretch today, and it seems likely that he is headed to an AL team as a DH / part-time catcher. Whoever gets him will be getting a classy player, and one who can still hit some bombs out of the park if he stays healthy.

His bat is has really declined the last two years to the point I'm not even sure he has a lot of value as a DH. I wouldn't doubt one of the subpar teams would love to have him just for his name putting people in the seats.

Da Mourners would love to have him. He would supplement Beltre perfectly.

I wouldnt mind having mike back 1 more year! at a 5 mil a year option! he did a lot for us mets fans i will root for him whereever he ends up. unless its the braves! which i know he is going to american league. he will wind up hitting 30 hr's a year over there as a dh and might hit 500 for his career. he still hit 19 this year and missed like over 60 games.

I would like to see him in a Minnesota Twins uniform. The ownership won't spend the money, but he would protect Mauer AND Morneau in the lineup.

The Twins are in desperate need of some power.

    We can always wish.
