goes on to tell me that he has season tix and wants to sell several pair. Tell me they'll be face value.
Goes on to tell me that they are across the court from the Cavs bench and Row 1.
115.00 per ticket. DAMN that's expensive!

goose3, sell em to him. I feel sorry for Seattle fans.
I don't root for the team with the most super bowl wins.
I don't root for the team with the most world series championships.
We know you like the yankees solely on the fact they've won the most world series. We know this because you have mentioned it over and over and over.
We know you like 'your' team when they are winning, and then they are 'the' yankees when they lose.
Everyone has seen through your pathetic facade of 'being a fan', and everyone knows you only like the spanks because they are the most successful baseball franchise.
Doesn't it suck to have no real connection to your team? To have no real love for the game?
Wow, I could never imagine that.
NY Giants devotee
NY Knicks lover
NY Rangers fan
Have these teams won something in the last 5 years I don't know about?

So you've only been a fan for the last 5 years? What happened to the lifelong fan you claim to be?
Which is it?

Congratulations on ruining another thread, Spammy.

My point is the Knicks have been in the playoffs and the Giants in the Super Bowl fairly recently, and now they plain suck (maybe the Giants will surprize me yet) but I still root for the teams I have been rooting for my whole life.

And THAT'S why you're a fan...spammy, we get it.
No, we do.
No, honestly, we understand.
You like and root for successful teams, and feel that somehow their winning championships validates your existence.
It's sad that a grown man has to live through others as it's so clearly YOU do.

First row might be worth it. Did your buddy ever have to sell any? Might go for well over face on stubhub and similiar sites for the games you don't go to.
I think eBay is better to sell and buy. StubHub takes a cut from the Seller and Buyer.

But at least you don't have to deal with e-bay headaches of dishonest people.

That's why I like it. Serious buyers only, for the most part. They even have offices that hold the tickets for game day pickup in some cities (like Boston).
-------------------
I recently heard an advertisement on WEEI for the company Stub Hub,
informing me that a portion of the proceeds from my Red Sox ticket
purchase would go to "Curt's Pitch For ALS".
It is bad enough that the "official radio network" of the Red Sox features
commercials for organized ticket scalping. But I can not believe one of
the most visible Red Sox stars is now lending misdirected legitimacy to
that organization by associating ticket scalping and charity.
Ticket brokers like Stub Hub are scalpers, plain and simple. They use
unfair methods to purchase tickets for face value, then resell them to the
public at ridiculously high mark-up prices. Brokers are no better than
the shady, annoying scalpers patrolling Kenmore Sq before a game. Both
serve one purpose - to make a profit ripping off fans.
While I’ve come to accept the cowardice displayed by the City of Boston as
it turns a blind eye to the scalpers in the street, I find it shameful and
insulting (not to mention a gross conflict of interest ) to see WEEI, the
Red Sox, and one of their star players associate themselves with the
business of ticket scalping.
Thank you

Fighting back against scalpers
That being said, I'm not sure that's an 'unfair' way of getting tickets as the letter write alleges.
<< <i>Scalpers suck. Ticket "brokers" are nothing more than organized and somehow legitimized scalpers. Here's a letter I sent to the Boston Globe on the subject. Obviously, being part owners of the team, they didn't want to print it. >>
My big problem is with the selling system. Speaking only for the MLB the virtual waiting room sucks. Because of fights last year you are no longer allowed to camp out for Cards tickets, so the day tickets went on sale I spent all day in the stupid virtual waiting room trying to get tickets and never did get through. Same thing the day Cubs tickets went on sale. I don't know if this caused by ticket brokers buying up all the tickets so I can't through or if the system just sucks, probably a combination of both.
<< <i>Isn't stubhub tickets sold tickets from season ticket holders? >>
They advertise to season ticket holders but anyone can sell on there.
<< <i>You wait all day in the virtual waiting room because the scalpers and agencies have thousands of computers and computer programmers getting in before you. >>
Yes, you would think that something could be done about this, I'm not sure what but someone needs a plan. The most outragous is the Cubs who have ticket broker company that they are also owned by the Tribune and gets tickets funnelled to it.
anyone Here interested in any??? Just pay the face price and for some secure shipping.
