down to the wire and lay down. I really think we have to win out now.

Considering Houston's schedule, winning out won't be good enough.
Not too happy myself as I would have much rather the Braves play the Padres than the Astros.

I agree with that - facing Oswalt, Clemens and Petite will be very tough. We have to win the games here to have a chance.

Assuming Phili wins out, we have to win 3 of our next 5 games. STL tonight and then the Cubbies for a 4-game weekend series. We have one of the best home records in baseball, so you would hope they can take care of business. I still can't believe this team is leading the wild card after starting the season 15-30. Regardless if we make it to the postseason or not, this season was one heck of a ride
And just as a side note, I honestly believe we would have made it to the WS last year had Pettitte not been injured
Pettitte is not injured this year but Houston doesn't have Beltran like last year. Based upon Beltran's performance this year, I am not sure that the Astros would want him. I am rooting for the Astros to win the pennant since Pettitte is still one of my favorite players. I will never forgive Boss George for taking Andy for granted and letting him go,

Pettitte was injured this year. Was on the 15-day DL and missed a couple of starts.
Beltran?!? He's playing the same as he did last year... Couple more HRs last year but that's because of our short porch in left field.
Beltran Stats
It just so happens that he was en fuego in the Playoffs... $11.5M/year for a career .280 hitter
And while I appreciate your well wishes for Pettitte, please for the love of Jebus, do not root for the 'Stros.
Thanks in advance.

I usually root for the AL team unless I hate them. If some how the Red Sox luck out ands sneak in, I will be rooting for the Stros all the way. You had better hope the Yankees kick Boston's arse this weekend.
Brian, as a Yankee fan, there are certain teams I would rather have the Yankees face in the first round of the playoffs, BUT the bottom line is if one's favorite team can't beat the best, they don't deserve to go to the Big Dance.
