    It indicates that the piece is of 2 taler weight. This is pretty typical of how these early pieces were marked. Sometimes they're of similar diameter but different thicknesses so the mark made it easy to tell the different denomination apart.

  • This one cost me a pretty penny too. Please note, the white spots are on the plastic covering the coin, not the coin itself. Bought it a couple of years ago.
