  • I'm pulling for the Marlins to win the WC because I said they would before the season started. Plus, the Braves playing an NL West team actually gives them a shot at not losing the first round of the playoffs image

Braves winning, Phils losing. You changed your allegiance too early.

Every year the 'new' Mets come in and every year they flop. (Remember Roberto Alomar and Mo Vaughn). Pedro has been good, but Carlos Beltran has been very average this year and they ain't paying him average money. Braves have very much overachieved this year. Will they do much in the playoffs? Maybe not, but at least they will be there.

every year braves do same thing! CHOKE! so whatever you want to say about the mets go ahead! try and get 2 rings as the atlanta braves before you talk!
  • The Mess are in last place…pretty piss poor when they are the highest paid team in the NL East. At least the Yankees are getting something for their money. LOL

Pedro shutting it down too….going on an early paid $$$$ vacation. NICE

Like I said at least they have the opportunities. There are plenty of major league teams that would love to even be in the playoffs year after year. That includes the underacheiving Mets.

  • kuhlmann, what does how much a computer programmer makes have anything to do with how much a team spends? Yes, the Yankees salary is twice as much but the Mess are in last place.

The Braves haven't achieved "Yankees status" yet with people around the country hating them, but National League fans certainly have been thinking this way.

    Yeah buddy!

Bought 30 UD Prospects a month ago.

I'll pick up an auto or two soon also.

Ryan may be a little old to finally make it to the show but he's going to tear it up. Can't wait to see what he does in the playoffs, assuming they make it.

If not, then next year when he has a full season.

I tell you what, I bet the Braves don't want to play the Astros in the first round again, because the 'Stros would beat them again with that pitching...I'm kinda sick of the Braves winning, what's it now, 14 or 15 division titles in a row?

Astros and Marlins have better starting pitching than the Braves. Phillies are better offensively. With all that being said Braves are still winning their division. Braves teams have been kind of sedate emotionally which has been a knock on them for several years. But you should have seen all the celebrating last night in the dugout when they came back to beat the Marlins in the eighth inning. Influx of young players has really brought some energy to the team.

Yeah I hated the Steelers in the late 70's so I can understand where you are coming from.

There's just nothing about the Braves that's exciting. Boring, but consistently good, team, but, boy, do they have terrible fans when it comes right down to it...Have they ever sold out a playoff game?

Definitive sports moments of the Steelers-4 SB titles, 'Steel Curtain' defense-one of the 2 or 3 best defenses of all time, many HOF'ers

Definitive sports moments of the Braves-1 WS title out of about 15 in the last 15 years, and the 'Tomahawk Chop' (I don't want to fail to note that they have the greatest regular season Manager and Pitching Coach of all time)

How many Braves of the past 15 years do you think are going into the hall? I'd be willing to bet many, many.

You can say they only have one world series title, but that's more than many teams (Yes, including my beloved Mariners have). They've been an excellent team year in and year out, and some would understandably rag on them for not winning more world series titles.

As a fan, I'd love to have my team win the division 15 years in a row, and winning it all once? Gravy.

That brings up an interesting argument. In the years, 1990-1991 to current, for the aforementioned Braves, whom would you select for the Hall? They had to play with the Braves at least 5 years. I would select:

    Bobby Cox
    Greg Maddux
    Maybe John Smoltz
    Maybe Tom Glavine
    Maybe Chipper Jones
    Maybe Andruw Jones

There's a lot of maybe's in this bunch, what does everyone else think?
