A TrueView Beauty - 1887 Jubilee £2

So, I sent a batch of bits and bobs off to PCGS and Darkhorse to shoot my babies nekkid, and here's one of my favorite results. This TrueView image captures the field surfaces, lustre, and strike better than I could imagine....it's 'spot on'.image

Once I get the entire batch back I'll show some from time to time (hint: most are still raw and it might not be before Christmas)image

Also, if I can find my original image of this coin in the plastic I'll show a side-by-side, but trust me, my images are dismal in comparison.

I haven't had the funds necessary to add gold to my 1887 set, but your photos have made me commit the sin of envy. image

Not bad! I wonder how much a comparable Liteside piece (if there were such a thing) would go for.....image

Fantastic and a very rare coin in this grade.

Phil's photos with the pro equipment are even better than before.I wonder why he hasn't been posting since the last Long Beach show.

  • There are two 1887 gold coins that come, both are owned my members of this board and both are absolute stunners.

The 1887 £2 coin above is one of them and it's a real cracker. I'd pay money just to see it, let alone buy it!

(The other is an 1887 £5 coin owned by Guilford Courthouse and it looks just like the £2 coin above)
