GAI 2 Ruth Goudey #144 cross to psa?

Hello,

I just won the following Ebay auction and am planning on sending this to PSA as a cross. Should I leave it in the GAI holder and ask for a minimum grade of 2, or crack it and submit to PSA. Thye last thing that I want to happen would be to crack and PSA not grade it!

Any suggestions or thoughts would be very much appreciated.

I tried to link the auction, but could not figure out how to do it. The Ebay item# is 5240716414 .

didn't even look at the card but crack it , you have no chance in the gai holder of crossing it, ok maybe .001% chance
  • Do you think there is a chance that PSA won't grade it after I crack it. Trimmed, not authentic, etc..

Also, what is the best way to crack the holder without destroying the card?

That card looks almost too clean as far as surface and paper loss etc....

  • Thanks for linking it. I am assuming that this card has creases. The seller stated that it had no writing on it, just normal wear for a 72 year old card.

I wouldn't worry about authenticity , I would think you would be safe on trimming but you never know no matter whose holder you crack. PSA tends to be cautious and it is not uncommon for a card to graded once and evid trim another. on a low grade card with this thpe of wear , I would not think it's trimmed . just my opinion, the final risk is yours.
  • If I decide to, what is the best way to crack?
  • Pliers usually do the job. Just break the top or corner area (take a rip or chunk with the pliers). Remember to always keep a steady hand and watch out for flying pieces of plastic debris (usually occurs with BGS holders). Once you get an opening on the top, you can use a flat head screwdriver to get in between the sandwich and just move it up and down with the screwdriver and go along the entire edge of the holder.....again, steady hand and take your time. If you slip with the screwdriver, you may slide it towards the card and add a nice long streak of surface damage or whatever. Good luck.
  • Hello Again,

Do you guys think $875.00 is a fair price for this card. I have wanted this card for a long time. Also, I should add that I kind of took a little risk because I have not seen the back of the card.
  • reggiejax44,
the auction ended yesterday and you didn't get it - even at $875. While I was looking at the auction, does anybody else think that bidder lou-al might have been a shill? He's got a feedback of 1 for some stinkin perfume he bought!?! crazy...

  • Hello,

Yeah I saw that bidder. Could possibly be a shill I guess. Other people bid higher than him though. Also, I actually did win the auction. I am srg4lucky on Ebay. I couldn't really understand what you meant by the auction ended and I didn't even get it?
