whats up with Billy?? I would of rather had my heart ripped out in the usual fashion after the all star break rather than
    this. At home no less

I didn't see it live, but Bell had a throwing error with two outs that would have ended the game. Billy still should have been able to shut it down but it's always harder when you have to get 4 outs. Just bad karma.

Not only did the Phils lose in heartbreaking fashion, so did the Mets. Tough night for fans of both teams.

Yea - the Phils are breaking my heart again...AS USUAL. I said months ago that they would miss the playoffs by one game - I see nothing yet to change my mind on this.

Yes - I'm hoping the reverse jinx theory comes into play and the Phils prove me wrong and get into the playoffs by one game - LOL

same ole' story for the Fightin' Phils. Bell has errors two games in a row, it seems. Wagner has been pretty great all season - but the last two nights have been huge. Bad time to take a loss.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
  • Braves don't want to play the Stros 1st round of the playoffs. Why else let Hudson hit in the bottom of the 8th? If Phillies make it, Braves play a much weaker Padre team.

I would love a crack at the Cards in the first round....but its only dreaming until someone beats Houston. You think St Louis willl
be playing the backups the last week when they play Houston??

    Uhm yeah.

They have secured home field throughout the playoffs...they won't be overexerting anyone.

Why would the Cards sit the players? This isn't football, and a sweep of the Stros could mean playing in Citizens Bank Park against the Phils pitching ...

collecting various PSA and SGC cards

they will rest there pitchers like carpenter. he will go like only 5 innings but no reason to rest there hitters.

Or they can let Houston get in and play a weak west division winner. According to an interview with Larussa yesterday they are not going to lay down. They want to get their players healthy but they also want to keep them sharp. It sounded the regulars would play every 2 out 3 games. They also want to reach 100 wins.
