1922 Peace Dollar w/die break and obverse doubling

I took a few more of my silver dollars with me out the office today and here is an unusual 1922 I found. There is strong doubling on the 2nd (2) in 1922, the (Y), and a very fine but LONG die break from the olive branches to the ONE. My pictures are pretty bad, so you'll have to trust me After checking with my loupe (10X), it appears a great deal of the obverse is doubled

Hi Danegeld. The doubling you are seeing is only machine doubling. It is not a doubled die of any kind and does not bring a premium in the market. It is very common in the 1922 Peace dollars. From the limited view, the reverse shows a common die crack, not an actual die break. Also common and no premium would be realized. Sorry.

Don't worry.... some top 50 VAM's have no premium as well.......

Aha! Taking coins to work--the first step on a slippery slope--next you will be taking them on vacation (like me)---at this point I'm afraid there is no hope of recovery.
