Poll: Which is a better sales venue for you, ebay or the BST?

RYKRYK Posts: 35,799 ✭✭✭✭✭
As a radiologist, I am inherently lazy (ask MOC image ), so I will list items for sale on the BST that could probably be sold for more on ebay. I have also had pretty good success selling on the BST, with no problem transactions. When I have bigger coins, I send them to Russ to sell because he is so good (and I am so lazy).

  • For some reason, as a buyer I prefer the BST. Don't care one way or the other about ebay links--I prefer the FSH offers and like to post WTBs. I also feel like I can trust the sellers.

Ebay but after fees you'll get more on the BST board. I wish they'd split the boards and have a members only venue for buying and selling. If I want your Ebay stuff I'll look for it there, I hate all the Ebay links on the BST board. Far too much crap to shift through for me.
  • I like to buy on the BST and sell on eBay. I feel a bit more secure buying on the BST because I'm dealing with active forum participants and (as pointed out in another thread) if somebody stiffs me I can out them to the community.

I sell on eBay because most of the coins I sell are "mistakes" I made when getting in to the hobby. They're not fit for board member consumption for the most part.

Edited to add: ttown has an excellent point. Too much eBay nonsense in the BST!

I've only sold on ebay and not on the BST. Maybe I should give it a try.

For you folks that do not like Ebay links and will not look that is just fine and I can see your point. Right now I have one on the BST forum that I hope you will look at though. People are suffering and need help.

I've sold on the BST and on Ebay. Coins and books under $100 I sell on the BST and over that amount I have much better luck on Ebay.
