Let me the first to say that Yankees got owned.....

by the White Sox in a good series.

Game 1 - 3-2 (Yankees)
Game 2 - 2-1 (White Sox)
Game 3 - 2-1 (White Sox) 10 innings

Let's see the White Sox fans come on this board and support their team before the Yankee lovers come up with excuses.

Remember these Chuck Norris Facts

1. When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn't lifting himself up, he's pushing the Earth down
2. According to Einstein's theory of relativity, Chuck Norris can actually roundhouse kick you yesterday
3. There are no such things as lesbians, just women who have not yet met Chuck Norris

looking at the white sox stadium sitting near empty night in and night out, are there any fans even in Chicago?
  • as a 45 year white sox fan i approach winning with caution.the chisox have not won anything yet.but, it was an exciting series with playoff type atmosphere.

Several decades of disappointment including 1959 loss have made me a nonbeliever untill they win it all. As far as filling the stadium, its a matter of winning. They did it in the 80's and 90's and if they can ever figure out how to field a consistently good team, it will stay filled.

I won't exactly say they got owned. The series did have a playoff atmosphere and could have easily gone the other way and the Yanks could have swept or the Sox could have swept. Considering the Yankees injury plagued starting pitching staff they did very well. And what's up with this Small guy?

The Sox of the Albino color is definitely the team to beat but the Yankees matched up very well. irishmike, are you a White Sox fan? I am surprised that with all the hoopla about the Cubs not winning the World Series since 1903 and the Red Sox not winning it since 1918 until last year, the White Sox 1917 drought is hardly ever mentioned. Why not more fans? The White Sox seem like a Rodney Dangerfield type of team to me....they don't get enough respect. If the Yankees don't get in I would definitely root for them. Nobody picked them this year. I usually root for the American League team in the World Series but sometimes I root for the underdog. I would probably root for the Cubs over the White Sox. If the Yankees don't go to the World Series, I hope the White Sox don't pull a 2001 Seattle choke job.

<<nonbeliever untill they win it all. As far as filling the stadium, its a matter of winning. They did it in the 80's and 90's and if they can ever figure out how to field a consistently good team, it will stay filled.>>

Axtey would call these people Fair Weathered Fans.

Megatron - kudos for pointing out what a good series is all about. Tight games - close scores. Too bad the Sox suck. image

Oh god here comes the excuses.

The yankees lose 3 of 4 to a good team, and suddenly the excuses are flying.

Every team deals with injuries...when you stock up on old, broken down, steroided players you are going to have injuries.

Yankees 5.5 out of first place now...

Spammy, the yankees still going to have the best record in the AL this year?

How soon until you are spouting how great the Giants are going to be this year?

Axtell - think the Yanks will not win the division (probably not) , or at least not make the wildcard? They are out of it right now. Are they good enough to make in to the dance?

No, the yankees will not make the playoffs (I've been saying this for a long time now).

The Angels or A's will be the wild card, depending on the division winner.

Mariano blew the game today, too.

Man how bad are things going for the spankees?

The Yanks are actually in third place now in the AL Wild Card race - behind Cleveland, who won again tonight. I think they may be out of it completely by Sept 1.

    Mark that!

    I will.

The Sox of the Albino color will probably sweep the Blood Sox this next series. image
