    1. Your feedback is very low to be listing something of that quality. I think you will have many hesitant people.
    2. First Class mail for a $6000 coin? Priority Registered and insured is the only way for something of that value.. and insure it as numismatic collectibles if they force you to state what it is.
    3. Gotsta get Paypal and offer it.
    4. Put the return policy listed under the return policy section. I almost missed it down there in shipping instructions.

    Hope these help you out.

Posting your coins for sale is generally frowned upon in this forum. The BST forum is the place for that. There's a veneer of numismatic educational value in the way you phrased your post, but it's still basically an ad.

This is better suited for the BST forum.

Not trying to sell it to you coinguy1.... looking for pointers on the listing and comments on the coin. Minimum too much? Photos of the coin acceptable?

    To answer p8nt,

    1) I've been trying to build feedback since I started listing items on Ebay back in Oct '04. With little or no feedback, I've sold several pieces (50-C $5 in NGC AU-58, a 51-D $5 in PCGS VF-30, and 1890-CC $20 in PCGS-55 to name a few) with no problems. What I believe is most important is that there is NO negative, nor even neutral feedback on me as I've made it a point to promptly send every coin as soon as the funds clear. I've also had no returns... even on coins I've guaranteed to reimburse postage on in case the buyer decided to return the coin! image

    2) Not 1st Class.... $15 shipping for Registered Insured mail. I don't send anything worth over $200 in anything less than Registered mail... it's in the shipping details on the listing.

    3) I do offer PAYPAL, but they charge too high a fee to use it for big money items. I just sold an ANACS VF-30 1828 Bust Quarter for $540 and PAYPAL charged @ $17 just for their piece of the pie!

    4) Duly noted on the return policy -- thanks!

I appreciate the comments and suggestions!

Again XpipedreamR, just looking for comments, suggestions, criticism... which you've dished image

I do appreciate the comment, and apologize for any consternation.

I saw the ebay listing earlier today when browsing.....as noted above, I would be leery of bidding on this coin given your relatively low feedback rating number.....the 100% is good but there have been a lot of scammed /fraudulent higher dollar coins listed on ebay recently. However, if I had taken the time to look at your feedback and the caliber of coins you had sold, that would have made a difference - but I didn't and my 1st reaction wasn't very positive.

I think your photo's are adequate. Better photo's - higher quality and larger images - would help attract more attention.

    Good luck!

First Class registered is just as good as Priority Registered. Same speed, a few bucks cheaper.

Charlottedude: IMHO, there is nothing wrong with your 50 feedback. If I had 6K to spend on a coin, I would have no problem bidding on it from you with you 50 feedback rating.

Especially since you live close enough that I would request to view the coin in person.

    Thanks Craig,
I've been using the wife's Canon Digital Rebel on a tripod to take photos... that's the best I have at my disposal for the time being. I realize (and understand) that/why folks are leery, even w/ a 100% satisfaction guarantee... I can at least say I'm a person of my word, so if they don't like the coin, they can send it back for a full refund, and they'll get it. image

Thanks for the tip... I appreciate all the constructive comments/criticism!

I bid on a coin of CD's about a year ago, before he joined the forum. I think it was a 51-D $5 in PCGS VF-30. I got beat by three bucks! Before bidding, we had a very pleasant exchange, and I would be very comfortable bidding on one of his auctions in the future. He did not know the protocol for the BST board. As fellow collectors, we should give him a lttle slack.
