Yeah but really, is this guy a poster child for roids?

I mean I don't doubt the results (even though he says the test is flawed), but if a pitcher with nearly a 5 ERA and twice as many losses as wins is using roids, how prevalent is the problem?

I think it also brings up the question how much better do they make you? Yes roids help, but you still have to a phenomal talent to begin with to be a superstar.

Ryan who? Are they not testing the more obvious candidates (other than Palmeiro)? I am sure a lot of us fans could point them in the direction of a few players that would be odds-on favorites to fail this test. I hope that all players have to be regularly tested now - but I don't know how exactly this is working.

I think MLB is scared; they know a number of the biggest names (bonds, etc) are juicers, and feel all the rebuilding they've done over the 10 years would be forsaken if they have a rush of serious stars busted for roids.

They probably cut a deal with Bonds; sit this year out, and we won't release your positive test.

And I assume Franklin took roids because it improved his game so how bad is this dude without the juice image
  • Put a frog in boiling water and he jumps out

Put him in cold water and turn on the heat and he will stay there and slowly cook to death.

Looks like MLB believes that dribbling out the suspensions...one big guy for each 10 small fry... will somehow condition the fanbase/congress/whoever and get them through the problem.

IMO...get it all out now (boiling water), deal with these cheating losers, and move on.

I'd like to be able to take my grandsons to a game in 5 years and not have to answer the questions that just won't go away in the current environment.
