I had a sizable stack of 52T Mantles and 33G Babe Ruths, but they got scattered while making passionate love to Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron on my desk. At the same time. Did mention they are 10's? The cards, I mean.

Just one: a stack of three graded cards that I need to place in my baseball storage box. There's also a stack of '23-24 hockey cards in my desk, but I guess that doesn't really count.

And I have to ask: What are THC's, Stone? The initials have a somewhat different connotation over on the Phish message board. Here, I'm guessing Topps Heritage commons.

We're talking just the desk right? Are you including the nightstand, my dresser(inside and out), and my walk-in closet ( which you really can't walk into without knocking over a stack of cards). I liked that part about the window ledge. I did have a stack on there yesterday before the winds came by and knocked a few off the top while i was sorting.

8, but I did some cleaning over the weekend. What's sad is that the 8 stack probably total about $10K worth of stuff, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't leave 10 G's in cash laying around my desk.

Man do I need to get organized...

I have 8 more piles on the window sill, 3 on the stool next to me, and 7 on the dresser.

    I was a messy baby.

funny story on a side note but regarding items on the desk...

The wife and I live in a vintage 2 br in a Chicago building and needless to say the bedrooms are tiny. Because of that I have my dresser and closet in the 2nd br/office. After reading on the boards about pantyhose and waxstains I had to try it out(works real well btw).

Every 3rd Wed. we splurge and have a maid come in to do deeper cleaning than either of us like to do. She usually just straightens up the office as I hav told her to not move my PILES! I get home one night, sit at the desk probably talking to all of you and not notice anything missing from the desk. The next morning after the shower I open up the underwear drawrer and find the pantyhose in MY underwear drawer! I giggled for hours wondering what this woman was thinking of me.

My desk drawers are stuffed with packs of cards. After opening the pack and not pulling anything good (which is always the case), I put the cards back in the pack for later sorting. On the plus side, occasionaly I will come across a good card I missed the first time around.

Put it this way, if i could afford one of those 20' shipping containers i could easily fill half of it.
  • When I get home I'll check to see if I have a desk under all them cards. Just too busy to sort and the stacks get so high they end up getting placed in a monster box.

    stack of 1954 PSA Bowmans

stack of a few PSA cards that need returned for mistakes, and a couple that I missed the wax on.

I'm currently staring down the barrell at an embarrassing assortment of junk wax. 13 piles of cards if I'm counting correctly, and two stacks of empty top loaders.

    The Stacks:

    1) Stack of submittable '86 Topps from a recent rack break.
    2) Stack of '86 Topps that probably isn't submittable but I haven't fully convinced myself to pitch them
    3) A stack of '86 Topps Commemorative All Stars which may or may not get submitted, depending on whether or not I find the stamina go go over those glossy corners with a loupe.
    4) A stack of '89 Donruss that's too depressing to look through, since I fear it's filled only with Dante Bichette RC's and McGwire 3rd years.
    5) 4 Stacks of misc. stars from the '90's.
    6) A stack of Puckett cards.
    7) A stack of Gwynn cards.
    8) A stack of Trammell cards.
    9) A stack of '74 OPC hockey which I'm loathe to go through because I hate-- and I mean absolutely hate-- pre-grading rough cuts.
    10) A very strange stack of 2000 Bowman baseball that I don't remember buying.

Oh-- and about 11 empty Diet Coke 20 oz'ers, some scotch tape, four half-empty packs of penny sleeves and three loupes (two of which have burnt out batteries).

  • I'm on page 49 of a submission...so 49 piles ready to go...and a shoebox with about another 400 cards to finish off....

The desk is full.....the kitchen table is 1/2....and the 3 counter tops at my store are a mess....
BUT...I can tell you RIGHT where every card is!!! lol

I hear ya. I had about 40 piles on my desk last week. I decided to finally sort out the piles and put away the ones I was questionable on. Loaded about 1200 into CS1's and that was on top of the 1400 I had for submitting. I just sent in only 200. image

The got there Tuesday and have not been entered into the system yet, which really pisses me off.

On a side note, I would never be able to use the kitchen counter. I tried to use the dining room table for a while and that was real short lived. I have one room. My main problem is that I have no idea what to do with all the raw cards I don't want to keep or grade.

I have two of the black PSA boxes that they sell sitting on my desk full of cards, two stacks of cards about 50 high in toploaders, another stack in Cardsaver I's, one card from SGC that I'm thinking of getting crossed over and two 35 card packs of 2006 Topps. Not bad for the top of the desk.....however all the desk drawers are full of cards and if you turn around away from my desk and look behind me there must be forty boxes full of cards in various conditions, statuses, not to mention the file cabinet and five drawer roller file with cards in them..... The only good thing about all this is that I recently cleared out enough room to walk around in my small office. Prior to Christmas you couldn't even do that....wish I had a digital camera to take a picture......

I've got five stacks of graded cards (all from my sets that I'm putting together that I've recently received and haven't placed into the appropriate boxes. Another box of graded cards with many of the ones I have in my eBay store right now. And, another box of Garbage Pail Kids that I'm trying to figure out what to do with.
