"No Grade Comment PLAN FLAW "

They wouldn't grade it because of a planchet flaw, ouch, that's harsh!

I thought more of the SA coins would be Cameo and the 1936 Can $ would be MS64. Other than that, OK.

    Ajaan:

Sorry that there appears to be extreme grading positions taken here. Considering your experience with not just Canadian, but British copper as well, really makes this unusual... image

That was the first thing I noticed as I read your list, are they using meth at NGC?

Planchet flaws are tricky with NGC.

If it's small, no problem it's just a mint made problem which does not affect the grade.
If it's big, why you have an error coin on yuor hands my friend! - into the slab it goes.
If it's somewhere in the middle, out of luck you are - enjoy the bodybag.

As an aside, PCGS will also occasionally BB coins for planchet flaws.

I have recently cracked out around 20 Anacs coins and sent them to NGC. Among them was a 1857 2 lepta copper graded AU50. It looked low end unc to me, but something didn't look quite right. NGC returned it BBed with PLAN FLAW, so I finally sold it raw at our local club's auction, description gEF. I think Anacs saw the flaw too, but decided to simply downgrade it instead of netgrading it and marking the problem.

What happened to the bronze coins of the 1959 SA set?

The set only included the 1d bronze coin. I bought a group of sets from this guy and some of them were only partial sets.

Here is the 1876H with the planchet flaw. For those of you who can't see it, it is the tiny mark on the rim at 9:00 image

I am surprised that it was body bagged for that.
