I checked the US mint web site for shipping date of my nickel & metal sets today !!!!
again the ship date was pushed back.........now 7/13/2005 !

I'm a little POed , so I call customer service to see if they have any explanation for the set backs .
( every couple of days I check , and the ship date changes )

The gal on the phone was pleasant , but had no answers . She also tracked my order and said it showed a 7/06/2005 ship date ??? Is my computer just faster than theirs??

Anybody else ?

Mine recently shipped, 6/24, not here yet.

Initially the ship date was later, then one day it says shipped.

I to have a ship date of 7/13. I think we won't get any either. I place an order for 1 one day before the sellout was made official. Ordered 3 more the day of the sell out.

So it was a crapshoot to begin.

I ordered 10 silver Proof sets a few weeks ago. When the sets did not arrive at my PO box I checked with the mint. Although my shipment has a routing number, the number is valid and there is no way that they can track it.

AND the mint is going to do a blessed thing to help me until July 16.

Years ago the mint's service stunk, and they fixed it. Now it's really bad again.

A private concern would care about a $379 order from a customer. The mint does not give a rat's tail.

That's government for you. The people be damned.

Still waiting. The site still say 7/13/2005, I believe. I promised one of my five to a gal at work here at Mint price. She was very disappointed when I told her they ship date had been changed AGAIN. I see them for sale on eBay. How did these people get their's already? I ordered them the minute they went up on the website, or shortly thereafter. I don't understand it.

Anybody else hate it when the Mint breaks up your shipment due to "backordered" items? It makes it impossible for me to track what I spent on which items when they do that.

I called and asked about this as well once that ship date went past 7/10 since the mint "guarantees" 4-6 weeks and that is pushing it. When I called and asked why every morning when I check the day is one further, the guy on the phone also told me his computer says 7/6. He said not to trust their website because it is having "problems" and that the sets will ship on 7/6 and still arrive within 6 weeks. Im going to call on July 1st and see if I can confirm this with anyone else there. Seems like they dont even know what's going on with these sets.

The word "guarantee" is not mentioned anywhere on the website. I told ya'll on the day they came out not to expect them till early to mid August. I don't know why ya'll keep checking ship dates every day and getting your hopes up. When you get them, you get them!

I got mine today. I had been checking and I remember it saying something like expexted to ship on 7/3 then I checked again and it said shipped out on the 24th.

So many of these sets have been offered on eBay that the selling prices have soften into the $50s. They were selling in the high $60s. Seems they are killing the goose that laid the golden egg. For myself, I am holding on to my 5 sets.

When your the only game in town they can set the rules and change them as they like. They know this and will not change why should they if you want the coins you will wait until they decide o send them. A private company would have went under by now.

Just sold one a few hours ago for $68. Lowest BIN right now is some dude that apparently just got five in and has them at $65 each. Next lowest is $69.95. Last eleven completed auctions (yesterday 19:20 pacific-today 17:11 pacific):

The two 57's were BINs, which is a case of someone setting the BIN too low rather than a sign of a softening market. If you look through completed auctions, every day had sales ranging from $55-$75. Prices aren't softening.

I might be the dude that ddink is referring to. I got my 5 in yesterday listed them all for $65 shipped and sold all before going to bed. I wouldn't say the pice has softened yet.

In case you haven't noticed by now... the website's ship date gets pushed back one day every day. It's automatic I'm pretty sure so the expected shipping date is never getting closer. I called the mint to see what was causing this and they said even though the website says whatever, the sets are actually expecting to ship 7/6/05 and not to trust what the website says.

i imagine they are going in order of when you placed your order. I had a shipping date of 7/6 at one point, then it changed to 6/24......so there is hope....If you ordered first day I think you will get them soon....as I said I ordered later in the day and got mine yesterday.
