morgannut2: I am not so sure the "rub factor" in the devices is what is at issue here but instead the slight "luster break" in the field to the left of Liberty as well as in a small area of the cheek/eyebrows. Very slight coloration differentiation. Do you see it?

Coins of this quality often waver between the AU55-58 and MS60-61. If submitted to top tier TPG 10 times you woud also see this varience. I do not like banged up large pieces and would prefer an honest AU with a little rub and but better surfaces.

Here is an old thread that needs to be brought to the attention of David Hall regarding if a coin can ever get too baggy to preclude it from getting mint state in the eyes of PCGS.

Interesting reading again 2 years later. Important for those who care that MS 60 grades are not common. If it makes it over the hump to unc , MS61 is a much more common grade than MS60. The AU58/MS61-2 line is always the toughest for me because of the "market acceptable" MS gifting to coins with "cabinet rub". If that is the level you can afford and or available try to find the nice original honest AU.
