How is the market for the coins you are collecting right now?

I'm a net seller right now only because I have some things to do with the money. Even with that I have every auction for any semi-valued($300-$900) coin(walker) with a starting bid that will take out the factor of taking a beating. I'll spend the extra fees to make sure a huge loss is not in the cards even though it limits the chances of finding a buyer. Right now I want to find a collector... not someone looking for a rip at my expense. 4-5 months ago I would have put up everything at $9.99 and let it play out. Otherwise, I'm on the sidelines except for filling spots in my toned rim Morgan date set and a few nik-naks I want.

From what I saw on this one and the other two I think he would of paid what ever it toke to get them. I was watching after my snipe was out bid.

Yeah, I also saw the others. My thought was that either he must have a client lined up for these coins or he's building a set. The prices were far too high just for inventory.

Cheaper, lower-circ overlooked semi-keys have been turning sharply upward, actually -- in many cases this means that what I could have had for $55 last year I'm paying $85 for now or whatever, not a huge amount of money -- but when you figure the percentage it is evidently a big deal. Apparently somebody else has been thinking the same things as me.

I'd like to add some early gold type coins to my set. The problem is even the scrubbed up, shined up examples that get into PCGS and NGC slabs with a clean bill of health are selling for record prices. AND to add to the insult, the grading has now slipped by a notch. Most slabbed AUs, which is my target grade, are really only EF.
