I believe PSA only counts working days, not calendar days. So your count is more like 35 days. This is still good compared to a few years ago when it could take 4 or 5 months.

As to the one received on May 12th, it's been 23 working days.

35 working days is about right...but before the 25th, my cards had been "in grading" for over 3 weeks. it was 15 cards. just odd that 15 modern cards would take so long. Got 3 10's and several cards for my player sets, but still.

  • May 11th was the dated the order was logged in, not the date that psa got them..
that was another week..it sat at psa before getting logged in..

ok, and are you counting the fact that psa assured me/others.... that becuse they were backed up in logging orders in, they would get the grades out earlier to account for the longer wait people had in getting the order logged in.

it really doesnt matter, they will get posted when they post..it would be nice if we could see that the cards moved along the process, i.e. see that the cards left grading and are now in sealing..then in verification...at least we would know they were moving along the assembly line

I don't care about PSA'S working days--because then you have to subract for Veteran's Day/Saturday/Sunday/and an hour lunch break during work week. Just count the days Start (when they got there to when they get Posted).

So right now you have to beat the 48/49 days in this thread. I still have 15 more days just to reach that pointimage
  • My last two were 34 and 35 working days.

  • In all fairness here, I sent in nine submissions at the end of April. Three were done in less than a week. Four were done in about ten days. One took nearly two weeks. All in all great turn around times by any measure.
That last one however, may make me the winner.
Arrived May 2nd, entered May 7th. Still counting. It was a group of oddball and obscure inserts from the early 60's. Stuff I think they will grade but some stuff I don't think they have graded before. I suspect I am in the research room at this point. Not holding my breath for results soon. For the price and consider the groups that I sent in, a satisfied customer here.

If you wanted them fast, pay the additional charge for it.

When you send them in, choose the more expensive option and get them back in a guaranteed time. I sent in 4 cards for the set registry special ($12 per card), and the entire process from sending them to them and getting them back took less than 2 weeks.

I just don't get people who (seemingly) understand doesn't have a guaranteed turnaround time, yet sit there and complain about it.

There are three things when it comes to service: good, cheap, and fast. Choose 2.

  • you know ax, before you open your fat trap which you always seem to do, maybe you should understand something, maybe someone DID pay for a turnaround time that has not been met!!!

So tough guy, WHICH turnaround service did you pay for? Or are you just running your mouth and speaking hypothetically?

I find it IMPOSSIBLE to believe you are waiting 2 months on some sort of guaratneed service when I was able to get mine in 2 weeks with no problem.

And if you have a problem with what I say, why are you just saying something NOW? Did I strike a nerve tough guy?
  • first of all, you are assuming I am a guy,...

no nerve was stricken, I just find it amazing that you always seem to know everything about everything. and even when you don't you always have an opinon, my service mr Axtell, was incorrectly logged in, my credit card was charged for the wrong service, and I was told that my service would be faster due to the slow log in time as well as the incorrect logging in of my service level.

So, again Mr. Axtell, since you are not aware of everyones life, and specific dealings with psa, maybe a little refrain before assuming, would actually come in handy, maybe asking some questions before a blanket statement might be in order.

    >>

When did I say that? I simply said if you are paying for the registry special (which is appeared from the posts in this thread), that complaining about no turnaround when no turnaround time was guaranteed seemed silly. Come to think of it, when did I, at ANY time, specifically call out YOU for whining? I don't think I did.

And blanket statements are great....I don't know what you are talking about. My comment about good, fast, and cheap service (choose 2) applies to any sort of service industry.

It's pretty funny just how quickly you got so whiny and defensive to my post...are you always like that?
  • Mr. Axtell,

You once again missed the point, the point was that you indicated that:

"I find it IMPOSSIBLE to believe you are waiting 2 months on some sort of guaratneed service when I was able to get mine in 2 weeks with no problem."

which was incorrect, not everything appears as it is on the surface, if we (other board members) desire to have a count down on how long an order at psa takes, well then we do, it has no bearing on you at all. Your remark was made and it was not correct, period. no more no less.

I am done with this discussion, you have made your points (as you have the right to do) and I have made mine. no more needs to be said, I will refrain from coming directly behind you in any threads, so you can't interpert my argument as one against you in future card collecting discussions.

I actually think Ax's remark was accurate. Beside extenuating circumstances like IJLC had, I don't think we have a right to complain about an ungauranteed service. I think his point is valid that if you want fast turn around time, pay for it.

As far as the arguement that ensued, I am not trying to become a part of it, but if some desire to have a contest they have the right as if someone cares to somment on the contest, he too has the right. I think the response to the opinion of the contest was far more out of line than the its instigated remark. JMHO

I wasn't trying to get ahead of anyone...I was simply trying to raise a point is all.

Yes I know it's frustrating to wait for grades, but when I submit under the $5 set registry (or any other special) I know it's going to take awhile.

Let's also remember that, as near and dear to our hearts that our cards are, people do make mistakes. Errors happen. As much as we'd like everything to be flawless, people are human and prone to err.

Yes it's everyone's right to express their opinions and be upset with flaws in a process - but let's remember, people as a whole are generally good, hardworking, and not out to screw anyone. I think if we put everything into perspective, and rememeber this is a hobby meant to be fun and entertaining (and not stressful), we'd all be a lot better off.
  • Carew29Carew29 Posts: 4,025 ✭✭

Well like i said in a different thread, I have been debating whether to ever do this again on a $5 special. I can't see why( going into day 41) why PSA can't at least e-mail you stating " hey we are still here and so are your cards, should be another week". How hard or time consuming could this really be. They could use the same moronic kid that answered their phone there the other day. At least this would give him two things to do there.

Nope--they were all OPC/TOPPS cards on the first shipment from 73'-86'( 30 cards). The only "odd" card was a 1973 Topps Candy Lid in that order which uses the same regular size holder. The next shipment which arrived last week (30 cards) was basicly the same which are going to fill my Master Set. The only cards i have not sent in are all of the Carew Disc cards. I have another order going out next week (60 cards) all basicly the same thing.

I re-read something on a different thread about taking time getting cards back in reference to the 45 day turnaround. Although there is no time limit on the $5 special i was told yesterday by Terrial Cole at PSA my cards are actually being graded. I learned that on the 45 day turnaround , that is 45 Business Days. That means PSA has up to 9 weeks to grade your cards.
Of course PSA could not explain how people had their cards graded on this 45 Business day plan last week already had recieved their grades and their cards back. Yet mine have been there since the first week of may.
Terrial Cole said they are using the same time frame for the $5 special to try and get them graded within that time. I guess this is the best answer you can expect to get from PSA.

I forgot to make copies of the newer sub, so i will have to wait and see what carew cards they were. They were not oddball stuff . The 76 HOSTESS (NO) was graded as AUTHENTIC but given no grade. I don't get it.
Carew4me, i will let you know what the cards were in case you ever decided to send in the same ones i did when i get them back. Terrial at PSA today e-mailed me saying that my first sub is actually being graded right now. So i should be seeing something within the several days.

I found out the cards that were not graded on the 2nd sub--were the 1984 Topps Nestle cards of Rod Carew. Apparently the PSA rocket scientist can't tell the difference between a cut sheet and a factory cut on these cards. My BEE-OCH with this is, DELETE THIS FROM YOUR WEBSITE SO I DON'T SEND STUFF IN THAT CAN'T BE GRADED!! Oh by the way, i am on day 46 with my first sub order. That is 32 grading days for PSA so far. Amazing!!
  • jackstrawjackstraw Posts: 3,762 ✭✭✭
The 84 Topps Nestles were never cut at the factory so its pretty easy for them to tell the difference? There is none! They (PSA) should grade these and label them as Nestle sheet ? Hello I smell revenue? If it wasn't for the 5.00 specials they wouldn't ever see 99% of the cards they get when the run these? Maybe I am off based but I have seen some of 4SC's auctions> 1986 Topps Marty Bystrom? They should just reduce the rates to 5.00 on everything from 72 to present with a value of 50.00 or less with a turn around time of 45 days so then there would not be any complaining?
