He misses I-Rod? Been awhile since they haven't been on a team together - Texas, Florida, Detroit.

Don't get too confident...you get to deal with the red hot Mariners in 5 days!

Should be fun...we get to tangle with the Phillies and the Mets in back to back series...should get to hear a lot of trash back and forth image

Is there still a team in Seattle? I thought they closed down when they couldn't win with Arod, Grif and the Unit.

Oh well, if they are anything like the Seahawks, they will show up wearing dresses.

You are on to talk stalin. When is the last time the Phillies made it to the postseason? Let me help you:

    1993!!!!

Yes, it's been 12 (count 'em, 12!) years since the Phillies have advanced to the postseason.

Now, which team is wearing the dress again?

When is the last time either of your baseball teams won a Championship? Jeter needs another ring for his pinky.

I am going to my 1st game next Saturday; the Yanks vs. the Cubs. It should be a hoot.

Axtell Rose, have you ever been to Yankee Stadium?

Why would I want to go to that bastion of all that's wrong with baseball and put more money in queen george's pocket?

I'd rather go see a game at a real classic with good seats like Fenway, or a modern day yard like Camden when I go to the east coast.

Yankee stadium holds little appeal to me at all.

We played in the world series in 93...has your pathetic team ever sniffed the big game not to mention bring home hardwear??

We had Kruk and Daulton and you had Arod and Griff and you have nothing to prove for it and are even farther than ever from one
    this year.

'We played in the world series in 93'? Wow, that sounds EXACTLY like how Eagle fans sound when talking about the super bowl! Are you sure you aren't a closet Iggle fan stalin?

Joestalin you feel to mention that the 2001 Seattle Mariners who won a record breaking 116 games during the regular season choked against the Yankees in the playoffs. Without a doubt that choke is up there with the 2004 Yankees. In many ways it is a bigger choke since the Red Sox were favored to go all the way in 2004.

    No, it's not spammy.

The yankees losing 4 games in a row is the BIGGEST CHOKE JOB EVER IN ALL OF SPORTS!

    Believe it!

I beg to differ. It is a moot point anyway as Seattle has never gotten to the big dance.

Nice way to avoid the FACT there spam boy.

I'm not alone in knowing the spankees choking up 4 straight games in the ALCS is the biggest choke job ever. Not so much losing 4 in a row, but losing 4 in a row, to their rival, in a playoff series, that the winner would go to the world series, that had NEVER been done before in any sport.

THAT's why it was the biggest choke job in sports ever spam boy. Now be a man (if you can) and fess up and admit.

Oh, one more thing, quit trying to recruit allies (aka Stalin) in your debates with me ("oestalin you feel to mention that the 2001 Seattle Mariners who won ..."). Poor, poor form.

Like getting taken to the woodshed and crying out like a schoolgirl 'anyone help me....please!'.

    Just sad.

Oh Ax, you really stepped into this one.

You see the big difference between the Mariners and the Phillies is what?.............

A RING, A RING,......A BIG FAT SHINY WORLD SERIES RING, A FRIGGIN' RING DA$$IT.

    Thanks for listening.

And I could say you stepped into this one:

You say you'd rather be an Eagles fan with their recent history of success but no super bowl ring.

I could then easily say I'd rather be a Mariners fan with their recent history of success but no WS ring.

How many times have the Mariners been to the Series?
How many times have they played in the ALCS?

  • AxtellAxtell Posts: 10,037 ✭✭
    Hey, Phillies/Eagles fans...tell me something.

It's well known I am a Mariners/Buccaneers fan. You all criticize the Bucs because they've had two awful years after winning it all, saying that you'd rather the Eagles be successful over a period of time without winning it all.

But now with the Phillies, they haven't even been to the playoffs in over a decade, but won a world series what, 25 years ago? And then it's ok to invoke THAT series win and say 'your Mariners haven't won it all!'

You can't use both debates without looking silly.

Well it *is* the spam boy you're talking about, and it is impossible for him to admit the yankees have ever done anything wrong, let alone admit they committed the biggest choke jobs in history.
