Sea-eagle 400-350 BC Istros AR Stater silver

I’ve been looking to add one of these to my collection for a while now… it is an amazingly fascinating piece that even those non-numismatics can appreciate.

I actually thought the obverse, two heads facing, was somehow related to Comedy-Drama however, after some research, it seems they either represent the sun rise & sunset or east-west trade.

As for the reverse… we either have a mating of the air (eagle) and sea (dolphin) or an Eagle attacking a dolphin or an eagle carrying a dolphin off… no mater what, a pretty cool piece.
