Well i haven't got it yet, but in about two weeks time this will be mine!

Edward the Elder (899-924) English silver penny, two line type. Moneyor = BONUS, of whom only a handful of coins are known, probably about half a dozen including this one.

Clearly a dug up specimen and cleaned accordingly. Also has an edge nibble where a tenth century individual has tested it's silver purity the old fashioned way.

Hopefully i'll have a whole run of Anglo-Saxon pennies by monarch from Alfred the Great (871-899) to Æthelred II (978-1016)

One I haven't gotten yet so this is the seller's image. Allamani/Franks imitations of Constantinian debased argentii circulated widely in the Danube area among Allamani (the ancestors of Germans) and Franks (ancestors of French) during the 4th century, during their constant wars with the Romans but before their major migrations into the Roman territory.

Went shopping on Ebay when I got hungry. Pie sounded good so I bought one.

This was one of 10 off the wall coins that were purchased from a seller in New Zealand. Also 3 other coins were bought from a seller in Canada last night. Both deals were made after a few Emails were exchanged between both parties. Buying World Coins is one hell of alot more fun that buying US Coins. Its the people that make the hobby and IMO something is very amiss with many US Coin sellers.

    It does look familiar.

Every time I see a 1901 red, I think of this picture:
