Your thoughts on this Trade Dollar..

I am seriously considering purchasing this....What are your thoughts on grade, value?

    I'd say that it is genuine, but I'd also say that it has been cleaned and would stand a good chance of getting a body bag if you tried to get it graded. Sharpness appears be in the Choice AU range, but I don't see any luster. It's been my experience that the services really don't like coins which look like this.

    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible.     I agree with the last comments....

    - Looks genuine (the only hesitation is that it looks almost too well struck...the stars show a very high level of detail)
    - Its very hard to tell what the surface looks like....its hard to tell what is going on....it does not look like original surfaces.
