Toned V Nickels and Buffaloes

Is it my imagination, or has there been a huge rise in the number of toned V and Buf nickels offered at auction lately? They also generally seem to be in NGC slabs. Makes me wonder how many are AT.

    Very true statement.

And we all know that PCGS would never slab an AT coin. Right?

It's not just you. I've noticed the same thing in the last 12-18 months, mostly Buffaloes. Most look NT to me, but I'm going only by pictures.

I've been looking for a nicely toned NO CENTS Liberty nickel in PCGS 66, but
    haven't found it yet!

Here's a V that I owned which resides in an NGC holder. (At least it did when I took this image.) AT or NT?

Toned MS Lib's are tough to find, IMHO.

Agree w last poster. I've seen a number of attractively toned MS Buffs; some scarce, some common dates. Liberty (and Shield) Nickels are a different story. While plenty of Liberty Nickels are toned, most of them are ugly. I haven't seen many toned Shield Nickels.

Isn't there a guy out West who tones those green and gold rings onto all those Buffalo nickels that all appear to have come from the same album? Recently I bought several pink and
blue Buffalos in NGC slabs that must have been cooked in the same Easy Bake oven, they are pretty but just too similar to be NT.
