Japan Gold Value Question

A Japanese gold coin has caught my eye and I want to make sure I don't overpay grossly for it. It is a1868 Nibu Kin (2 Bu gold) in solid AU condition. Could anyone kindly tell me how the latest Krause values this item? And for those who know, is that Krause value very realistic? Thanks....!

The 2001 3rd Ed. 19th Century Krause lists it at $30 VG, $40 F, $55 VR and $85 XF. In general, Krause values are much lower than JNDA values, and many Japanese coins sell on EBay below their Krause numbers..
In this case the JNDA/Krause values for the condition (>$85 and ~$93) are fairly close. (Bullion value of 3g .223 gold/.777 silver is less than $10.)
BTW the coin is undated. It is the last old-style Japanese coin, issued in 1868-69.
Thanks, CL
<< <i>Interesting article in recent issue of Coin World on 3 million dollars of estimated auction sales ahead from sale of Japanese gold coins that were returned to Japan by the Allies in the early 1950's. Auction likely in Fall. >>
If you are referring to this hoard, I 've just won a Meiji 41 (1908) gold 10 yen, in a similar case by the Ministry of Finance of Japan, graded MS65 by PCGS. None of the two grading services are removing these coins from the holders that the Government of Japan placed them in, they just grade them in a similar way to the US GSA dollars, so that their provenance can be immediately identified.
Edited to add NGC's article photo. PCGS does not stick a label on the obverse, but provides a photo certificate with each coin.
The first auction took place in 2005, but only Japanese inhabitants were allowed to participate, mine comes from the secondary market. There will be a final auction later this year, the one that Coin World refers to.

Maybe it's time to send my relatives a late oseiboh (winter gift). I'm glad I didn't buy any BU modern Japanese gold before. I imagine this release will cause some price adjustments.
