You are high on the yankee dog when they're winning and feasting on (admittedly) poor competition from the A's and M's. You are the very essenve of a bandwagon rider: you are loudest 'fan' when the Yankees are winning, but you are a vapor trail when times are bad. I don't care what you say, everyone knows you are this way.
I've grown weary of having the same discussion with you over and over; your posting patterns are so predictable I can tell who won and loss the yankees games just by your inane posts.
Do you think anyone here cares that Tino is tied for the ML lead in HRs? Does anyone think for a second what you do in April or May has much bearing on the final season?
I find it most amusing, however, that your man crush on the big unit has faded as his ERA still is near the 4 mark and you've now developed a feeling for Tino...and no, you weren't predicting he'd hit anywhere near this number of HRs, no matter what you try to say after the fact, spammy.
Spammy, I'll say it for you in the cheap seats: I WON'T BE RESPONDING TO ANY MORE OF YOUR INANE AND CONTRIVED POSTS, and it has nothing to do with my M's falling short of a .500 season. See, you wouldn't know what it means to be a passionate fan in the face of adversity because all you know is 'Hey, the Yanks won today! Let me go spam up the PSA board!!' and 'hmm the yanks lost, time to put my NY hat away!'
There's a tremendous line from the movie Hellboy that sums up how a REAL fan feels about his team:
"You like someone for their qualities and you love them for their flaws." That's how I feel about MY teams...yes it's a great feeling when they win, when they achieve, but to be a fan through the downtimes, through the hard years, that's when you know you LOVE your team. Being a long-suffering Bucs and Mariners fan, I can tell you the bad times have outweighed the good. But that's not something I would EVER change.
Have fun with your posts spammy! I'm sure I'll see you disappearing here when the Yankees play some teams with winning records and the real yankees come out and start losing again.

They don't need Jason Giambi. Who has 4 World Champion Rings with perhaps another one on the way?
Did you know that over the last 6 years Paul O'Neill, Bernie Williams, and tino Martinez have more combined RBI's then any trio in Major League History? It's true. Go look it up.
I am sure there are PLENTY of teams who would be interested in tino's services!
The above post was a few weeks before the Yankees lost the World Series to the Diamondbacks in 2001. I am still an avid Yankee fan too as I was in the dark days of the early 1970's and the 1980's thru the early 1990's. Didn't stop posting when they were 11-19 either. You make up stories.
Axtell Rose, Baby you are all wet.
YES
<Does anyone think for a second what you do in April or May has much bearing on the final season?>
No, they throw out the April and May games and do a "do over" from June thru September.
<< <i>Your comeback about April and May had me rolling on the floor. >>
You must be easily amused.

Really? What do you do when you read something actually witty, then?
My head hurts from trying to explain and reason with fans like Gemmy here. But, Axtell pretty much has it laid out for you - and I'll add this...
Gemmy - your team is built on a 200 million dollar plus payroll. 200 million! With that, don't you think you should be beating the teams that have payrolls less than half of that? Shouldn't this be a given? It was actually embarrassing to see the reverse, but now - for you to start dancing around the room, yelling in post after insipid post, that the YANKEES ARE BACK! is a little sad. Back to what? Not even .500, yet.
Oh, and Yankee fans were quick to throw Tino out on his butt a few years ago, when the latest free agent zillionaire (Giambi) became available. Now, of course, they say "We never should have let you go, Tino!" How phony can you get?
ctsoxfan,
Sorry, not me.

Oh, and by the way, what is the Red Sox payroll vs. Seattle payroll?

<<Gemmy is no bandwagon fan. He always liked Tino, the evidence is here on the boards>>
Thanks, DeutscherGeist
<< <i>I think the Gemmyman did a pretty good job of biting his lip until the Yankee resurgance got to the point where it could not be ignored. He has always touted Tino...but who woulda thought....? >>
Always bit his lip?
How about the incessent threads of 'they're back' and 'arod on pace for 62 home runs' etc?
He's a spammer, he can't contain his so-called love to one thread...he thinks everyone should be a yankee fan because he's a 'fan'.
These forums would be a lot less spam-filled without the spamboy.
Ralph Kiner and I didn't catch the 2nd name.

<< <i>Tino was on the St. Louis Cardinals team recently (2 and 3 years ago). Most St. Louis fans felt the team spent WAY too much money and that Tino did not produce up to his standards or the team's expectations. He did not produce in the clutch when he was most needed. >>

Tino was one of the few players that didn't really seem to enjoy playing in St.Louis. He loves playing in New York and performs well there and that's where he wants to be, so I'm happy he's back and doing well. Cardinal fans like Tino wish that the St.Louis expirement had never happened.

Yankees win.......put Tino in!
