Excellent article in Coin Values by our very own Hoot.

The May, '05 issue on pg 26 is a excellent article by Mark Hooten (Hoot). There is
another good article by Al Doyle on Roosies on pg 20. They don't seem to have
covered the Roosies in quite the kind of depth that they've attacked some other
series recently but I'll forgive them since they've started listing prices for circulated
grades of the dimes. These prices need a lot of tweeking but it's a good first step
to recognize a real and growing market.

I had read the article and decided to start a thread before I looked to see the author.
It was a nice surprise.

It never fails to impress me how accomplished our forum members are in numismatic achievement. Now, who says PCGS Forum has little impact on the coin hobby and industry?

Mark has done some amazing work! Here and here are threads devoted to Hoots work acknowledged by NGC forum members.

Amazing since he lives way up north in Montana and has a regular job that requires much travel. Don't know how he finds the time for everything...including putting together reg sets in Buffs and Jeffs!

It is tough way up here in Montana, being how we still don't have running water and such. He does have interesting working quarters.

Not only can Hoot write, but he's one of the folks I look forward to chatting with on both boards. Its always a pleasure.

Hey, WOW! I just caught this thread by doing a search on "Hoot" to see what threads I'd recently replied to! LOL!

Thanks fo all the kind comments from great people! Threads pass so fast on these boards that I end up missing all kinds of things. image

Montana is a far piece from the numismatic center of the universe (isn't that the Legend collection? image), but thanks to libraries and some great folks, I often feel like I'm constantly in the thick of things. image
