I think it has come up previously, and did not sell because of a high reserve, I guess. I also wondered about the origin of the color, especially the reverse.

I would not purchase that coin.

I can't say with certainty whether its AT or NT, but I can say with certainty its not a coin for me, and it immediately triggered my emergency defense system.

I think it's highly suspect. If I had sent that coin in, I think it would have come back in a body bag for AT.

I for one like it. And will be watching it. Won't pay more than what the history shows though.

  • I'm willing to wager that quarter spent some time in one of those real hard
flips. I auctioned some Jeffs and Rosies for a consignor and all the coins
came out of the hard flips that have a waffle-looking seam around the
    outside. Beautiful blues and rainbows.

The obverse has some convincing aspects to it, but I don't like the reverse at all. That does not look natural.

  • I vote AT from the image but the coin could look a little different in hand. Frankly I like the coin and if the price was right I would be a bidder on the sucker in a heart beat!!! image

I think it is natural toning and nice to boot!

A "Very Attractive" Washington! Nice, but not moon money nice.

    Whitman Album tone

I've seen many Rosy's that have Whitman toning, but most of the ones I've seen are blue, brown, or orange. I've never seen a Washington that's been in a Whitman folder for a long time. I agree the obverse looks okay, but that reverse really looks odd.

I like it as NT because of the reverse.

Well, that would depend on who's selling it. image If it's a "Respected board member".... usually not many comments.

  • Heres a mint set toned Jeffy I have with colors that closely resemble the reverse of quarter shown, its also in a PCGS slab, if that helps.

BTW -- I like that quarter and think its NT.

  • Well, the auction is in full swing and the last time I looked the next bid was $600. I really like the coin and if I hadn't sold my set recently I would be one of those bidding "Moon Money" for it. Probably would of dropped out at $500 though. Crazy! image

  • What's really interesting is seeing that 55p in 65 @ $200 right now. MOC, could that be you? Hoping for a two point upgrade to fill your Signature Line want ad? image
  • Craig - Seeing how you're having trouble spending money today why don't you pick up that 59p and give it to me as an early birthday gift. It would be a nice start to a "ColorMeQuarters II" registry set.image
  • Sorry Craig, the set flew out of here a couple days ago...
