I guess this seller has a hell of a lot of confidence in his grading ability.

A PRE-SALE auction of a "first strike" PR70DCAM 2005 Silver Eagle?

"Expected" delivery 4.06.05. What's he going to do if he doesn't score any?

Might have a couple submitted and see's the evaluation already. If not, he's screwed.

Since HRH stated here a couple of years ago that about 2% of current proof mint releases deserve the 70 mark, the graders have performed true to his word. So if this guy submits 50, he deserves to get a PR70 back.image

I guess if they don't get any maybe the buyer will need to settle for a 69?

  • The question should not be if the seller will get the grade? but "how many did PCGS Guarantee to the seller at the grade MS-70?

My guess would be that PCGS posted the grades and the seller immediately listed them. The cash register was ringing in his ears, and he just could not wait until he had the coins in hand.
Who is General Failure, and why is he reading my hard drive?

If that were the case, he's expecting the coins to be shipped by stagecoach. He started the auction 13 days before his expected receipt date.

Seller's grades posted Monday (3.28) so, while he was betting on the come, he'll have the coins shortly.

  • Hmmm! wondercoin has them on the Buy Sell board for less than that.
