New Book : The Double Eagle by James Twining

Not a numismatic book, but it does have a numismatic twist. The title refers to the 1933 Saint. It is a fictional spy story and Twining's debut novel. It is not available in the U.S. yet ( Amazon says September 1, 2005 ) but I got a copy from the U.K. where it was first published. If you like spy novels you'll like this one especially because the villain is an obsessive coin collector.

If you want the book the cheapest way is www.abebooks.com or www.bookfinder.com where you will find a copy from a U.S. dealer which will save a lot on shipping. I got mine from www.legendsbooks.com, a signed U.K. first edition for $45.

I've never mastered the art of reducing my book collection.

The only way I have ever 'reduced' my book collection is when someone borrows a book and it does not return. Cheers, RickO
