Clankeye,

You've been way to quiet for way too long - I dare you to open this dreary Monday with an episode for the wannabe folks image

ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO I DECIDED TO BE A WANNABE. I HAD COLLECTED MORGANS AND MINT SETS AND HAD AQUIRED ABOUT $10,000 WORTH OF COINS. I THEN DECIDED THAT I WAS GOING TO TRY AND MAKE A PROFIT ON A PART TIME BASIS. I SOLD $6,000 OF COINS ON EBAY FOR ABOUT $3,000 TO GET A LITTLE CASH TO WORK WITH. I PURCHASED FOR $100 " SO YOU WANT TO BE A DEALER" FROM AN ADVERTISEMENT IN COIN WORLD. (NOT MUCH HELP). PURCHASED NICE SCANNER AND DIGITAL CAMERA. MADE UP BUSINESS CARDS. THEN TRIED TO GET STOCK TO SELL. PUT AD'S IN PAPER "COINS BOUGHT AND SOLD". NO SERIOUS SELLERS. HIT ALL THE PAWN SHOPS FOR MORGANS AT DISCOUNT (THEY HAD THEIR OWN RED BOOKS, AND WANTED PREMIUM). NO BARGANS THERE. WENT TO LOCAL COIN SHOWS LOOKING FOR STOCK. COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING THAT I COULD SELL FOR A PROFIT AS THEY WERE SELLING FOR A PROFIT. I TRIED TO BUY LOTS/COLLECTIONS ON E-BAY. THE ONLY PERSON WHO MADE MONEY WAS EBAY AND PAYPAL. I WROTE TO BIG ADVERTISERS IN COIN WORLD ABOUT AQUIRING MORGANS AT WHOLSALE, THEY DID NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED.
AS FAR AS FINDING A MENTOR, NOT HERE. (SOUTH WEST FLORIDA, HOME OF ANA PRESIDENT) TWO COIN SHOPS. 1 SELLS JEWELRY AND DIAMONDS WITH COINS ON THE SIDE. IF YOUR NOT BUYING A HIGH TICKET COIN NO ROOM TO BROUSE AS EVERYTHING IS IN VAULT. THE OTHER IS OPEN 1/2 DAYS AND IS NEVER THERE ON FRI OR SATS (AT SHOWS, LEAVES STAMP GUY IN CHARGE, BUT TAKES ALL STOCK WITH HIM). THE ONE TIME I SAW HIM HE WANTED TO SELL ME 100 MORGANS AT RETAIL.
NOW I'M BACK TO COLLECTING AGAIN (HAPPILY). LAURA IS PROBABLY CORRECT THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF MINIMAL KNOWLEDGE HACKERS LIKE MYSELF, WHO TRY TO MAKE A BUCK WITHOUT PUTTING IN THE TIME AND AQUIRING THE KNOWLEDGE. WAS A WANNABE NOW HAPPY.

    Marc--

Truth is stranger than fiction they say. My limited imagination stopped being able to keep up with this joint quite a while ago.

thanks be to the lord - a response from the bard himself - albeit after a hijacking attepmt of thread yikes in post two - but I totally can relate Clank - I just thought perhaps a wake up call here would help - but I see you are totally in control and alert 'n oriented to the status quo imageimage

    Indeed!!!

I now search for Clank's alts everywhere and am often sure I've found them.

Then I remember the prophetic words above and realize there is not only a single Clankeye but none other.

nothing for nothing....selling 6k for 3k does not seem to be a good way to start a business image
