Storage boxes wanted

Where might I purchase the best slab storage boxes at the best price? And should I consider one special brand?
Thank all of you
Ron

    hey Russ

not really for free, they're part of the return shipping cost. the neat thing is that they're very reuseable and you can even sell them.

I have some of the "Eagle" certified coin storage boxes seen in this link, they work OK for me.

NOTE: this is just the first link I found with a picture, I do not know, frequent, or in any way recommend you buy from this person. mileage may vary. etc. etc.

So far as I'm concerned NGC boxes are the best because the coins go into slots, which reduces the number of scratches on the slabs. PCGS boxes do the same thing, but not as well.

Dealers with whom I do a lot of business often give me NGC boxes for nothing. image

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

PM PQpeace. He has tons of the blue PCGS storage boxes for sale at a great price. I know that a bunch of us on the forum buy them from him.

Contact NGC for a supply of their new silver storage boxes. They now hold PCGS, ICG, and Segs just fine. Last August he $5.50 boxes were much cheaper directly through NGC than coin supply houses; shipping is about $.50 each box. PCGS boxes do not hold NGC slabs because the NGC slabs are too tall.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

I had a dealer give me the one that I have at a show as he was trying to get rid of them.

That drives me nuts that my PCGS box don't hold my one NGC coin image

    Ron,
I use a combination of Eagle sheets and Eagle boxes. Makes it easy to view what you've got.

Pictures taken from Brent-Kreuger's web site (where I got mine).

Personally, I prefer the Intercept Shield Slab Storage boxes. I just purchased 3 of them for my collection...they run about $11.99 each for board members. I think they hold 60+ each....and they have some "storage technology" behind them that is supposed to help with corrosive gases over the long run. They are very well built boxes. They do not have individual slots in them...so the slabs just rest up against one another (like a normal 2x2 storage box would). Unlike the blue PCGS storage boxes, when the box is filled, nothing rattles around at all. If the box is not filled, you just have to wedge something in there to prevent your slabs from sliding.

Wayne Herndon has a website and he ships SUPER FAST! I highly recommend buying from him if you want to try them out.

Barry, I take it that the ANACS box won't accommodate PCGS/NGC slabs.

BTW I bought the higher quality coin tongs from B-K and they are the best thing since sliced bread. image

Depends on what you mean by best. I like the Intercept double-boxed slab boxes. They hold 10 certified coins each in their own little box. The little ones and the larger one are protected by Intercept Shield. Not sure if this stuff works as only time will tell. As Ellewood mentioned, Wayne Herndon carries all the Intercept products.

Correct. One box for PCGS/NGC and another for ANACS. Externally, the boxes are the same size.
